Start defining the variety of ‘home’ factors that can be relevant to determining educational
achievement. Integrate factors relating to gender, ethnicity and social class as relevant.

Prepare case studies of different learners (include the factors you want to emphasise) and they have
to pick out why these learners are likely to achieve well or not at school based on their ‘home’
PROCEDURES factors. This would be a good opportunity to differentiate by complexity of case study given to
individual learners.
