SWOT analysis when applied to learning and development guides in skill improvement,

assess potencies, drawbacks and opportunities.

Using leadership coach models one can help make process easier for new and experienced
managers. COACH framework – The structure constructed for manager and leaders in building a
foundation for development. Essential skill for a coach includes being focused and engaged,
inspiring, sowing interests and concern for employees and being rigorous. Coaching style: It’s a
framework a leader introduces at the workplace to create a culture of high performance. The
characteristics in common of high performing culture include collaboration, empowerment and
motivation.
GOAL: drafting a goal or end result the coach or manager would like to target.
REALITY: Identify the reality of coaches status and their challenges towards achieving a goal
OPTIONS: Addressing the issue or the problem and to focus on identifying the action steps and
resources to develop a skill that will lead to improvement of the situation.
WILL: Developing a plan to meet the goals. SMART goals and development action Plan can be
used for this purpose.
Grow model guide the coaches from goal to action plan creation. The coaches use open ended
questions to direct the conversations.
Through the analysis of grow coaching model I was able to assess my weakness mentioned in the
SWOT analyses and identified my skill gaps. I was able to solve the work oriented problems that
were related to my areas of weakness. I also got clarity regarding my thoughts through the ‘goal’
attribute as it helped to establish a clear goal and kept me motivated to achieve the end results.
Once my goal got cleared the actual reality assessment was done which helped me to know about
my true weakness and strengths in a clear way initially I was not topic oriented and create link,
but by analyzing the current situation, exploring new ideas and engaging myself in open end
conversations cleared my assumptions and didn’t left me confused, giving me a sense of self
confidence I got more dedicated towards my work. After these I addressed all the possible

aspirations. This personalized approach influences employee engagement and motivation.
Therefore from the above considerations it is analysed that how important it was for me to assess
my skills assessment tools using the SWOT analysis that helped me to understand learning and
development needs that were required to enhance my performance and productivity. I was able
