RAINWATER HARVESTING
Sugihmanik Village, Tanggungharjo District, Grobogan Regency has hydrological features
similar to karst places with geological conditions of 50% limestone, which allows the soil to
easily leave water. For the past five years, the village’s spring water supply has reduced its
discharge. To solve the problem and provides sustainable solution the students from
Departments of Industrial Engineering and Environmental Engineering conducted
community services to build rainwater reservoirs using a filtration procedure to lower lime
levels in water. The rainwater reservoirs design incorporates infiltration wells. If the reservoir
is full, water will flow automatically into infiltration well.

WASTE BECOMES VALUABLE
"Organic waste or livestock manure, which used to smell, will change its smell after
processing, namely the smell of money”, said the UNDIP feed technology lecturer. In order
to prevent a decrease in land quality as a result of excessive application of inorganic
agriculture systems, it makes us think again about implementing a healthy and sustainable
agriculture system. This activity is expected to be a solution in the midst of economic
improvement after the COVID-19 pandemic attack in the last few years.

Take urgent action to combat
climate change and its
impacts
SOLAR TREE
Universitas Diponegoro is committed and
participates in action to deal with climate change
by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which can
increase the impact of global warming, namely by
utilizing environmentally friendly solar panels. The
Solar Tree installed at MSTP UNDIP, Jepara is an
installation of an electricity supply system sourced
from solar energy that is made to resemble several
types of trees, such as banana trees. One solar tree
installation consists of 5 leaf branches equipped
with solar panels to absorb solar energy which is
then converted into electrical energy.
MANGROVE PLANTING
Mangrove forests have the same role as other
forests, namely CO₂ absorbers so that they can
help in preventing climate change. Universitas
Diponegoro is active in mangrove planting
activities in various coastal areas in Indonesia,
such as mangrove planting activities in Batang
Regency, especially the Walukiting Beach area,
500 mangrove seedlings in Tapak Village,
Tugurejo District, Semarang City, 500 seedlings in
Tambakbulusan Village, Demak, 6000 mangrove
seedlings in Tirang Beach, Semarang regency, and
so on, This mangrove planting action involves
various parties such as academics, local
governments, communities, and NGOs.
ARTIFICIAL PATCH REEF (APR) AND ARTIFICIAL FISH APARTMENT (AFA) MADE OF FABA
Global warming will cause the temperature and acidity of sea water to increase, resulting in coral
bleaching and damage. Universitas Diponegoro and PT BPI carry out Artificial Coral Reef Planting and Fish
House activities made from Coal Waste. Hundreds of artificial coral reefs in the form of pyramids Artificial
Patch Reef (APR) and Artificial Fish Apartment (AFA) made of FABA (Bottom Ash) coal concrete are parked
in Batang Waters, Central Java. Conservation activities by planting coral reefs are an effort to maintain the
balance of marine ecosystems and preserve the flora and fauna in them.

REMARKS
Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) continues to strive to
float and implement various programs in line with the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Various
activities and programs developed by Undip are
directly related to the 17 goals proclaimed. These
efforts are carried out as part of Undip's policy in
achieving the vision of becoming a superior research
university, in addition to the implementation of Tri
Dharma Higher Education which is education, research
and community service. In addition, various programs
and activities were apparently in line with Undip's
efforts to develop a sustainable campus that is
advanced / modern, safe and comfortable for the
learning and teaching process. The great support from
all academicians and Undip partners is very helpful in
the successful implementation of planned programs
and activities.
