Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh

Program Implementation Report and Activities related

to the Sustainable Development Goals year 2022 has
been completed. The purpose of this report is to provide
an overview of various programs and activities carried
out by all academics of Universitas Diponegoro in
correlation to the 17 objectives or goals of Sustainable
Development Goals.

As we know, SDGs are an urgent call initiated by the

United Nations and become global action by all after
being ratified by many countries around the world. All
countries that have signed and approved this blueprint
were encouraged to have commitment and carry out
various programs and activities to achieve all the
objectives of the SDGs. SDGs cover almost all aspect for
peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and
into the future by action in global partnerships.

Universitas Diponegoro is committed to continuously

support the implementation the SDGs program. This
commitment is also in order to help the Indonesian
government to achieve the SDGs targets that have been
set.

Hopefully this report provides adequate information

about the programs and activities of SDGs at Universitas
Diponegoro. We hope that this report is useful for all of
us.

INTRODUCTION
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are programs
that guide the development of countries in the world
initiated by the United Nations (UN). This program was
agreed upon by 193 countries and governments around
the world through the document “Transforming Our
World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” at
the 70th United Nations General Assembly in September
2015.

The SDGs have five basic principles that underlie the

economic, social and environmental fields, namely: 1)
People, 2) Planet (earth), 3) Prosperity, 4) Peace, 5)
Partnership (cooperation) and 17 Goals and 169 Goals to
achieve a better human life and the universe. The
agreement of UN member countries on the SDGs has the
consequence that countries in the world must
implement the SDGs program to achieve the targets that
have been set.

Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) as one of the Legal

Entity State Universities in Indonesia has a vision of
being an "excellent research university" (Utama and
Ambariyanto, 2017), supported by the selection of
Undip's Principal Scientific Pattern, namely Coastal
Region Eco-development (Ambariyanto et al, 2017)
strongly supports this. Regarding the University's Vision
and Scientific Principles UNDIP is actively developing the
SDGs program at the institutional level to support the
Indonesian government in achieving all the goals that are
targeted in the SDGs program. Sustainability is the basis
for policy development at UNDIP, for that UNDIP
developed UNITY (UNDIP Initiatives for Sustainability)
(Ambariyanto et al, 2018).

Considering UNDIP is a higher education institution,

UNDIP implement its policy to develop an
advanced/modern, safe, and comfortable campus for the
learning and teaching process (Utama, et al, 2017).
Furthermore, in the process of implementing the
program to achieve SDGs goals, all UNDIP stakeholders
including lecturers, employees, students and the
community around the campus are fully involved in
accordance with their respective capacities.

The purpose of preparing this report is to provide an

overview of the programs and achievements that have
been carried out by UNDIP in 2022 in carrying out its role
to support the achievement of the 17 SDGs goals.

HYDROPONIC INSTALLATION AS
AN EFFORT TO INCREASE FOOD
SECURITY
Efforts to increase food security are
carried out in various ways, one of which
is carried out by KKN Undip students is
planning and designing hydroponic
houses and installations as supporting
facilities for hydroponic cultivation.
Hydroponic cultivation is a method of
cultivating plants using water without
using soil with an emphasis on meeting
the nutritional needs of plants. People
who don’t have enough land to grow
various kinds of vegetables can use this
hydroponic planting method.
(BUDIKDAMBER)
Budikdamber is an effort to farm fish in
narrow areas using bucket containers. The
fish commodity chosen was African catfish
(Chlarias gariepinus). This aquaculture
training was conducted by the
Department of Marine Sciences, FPIK
UNDIP in Jabungan Village, Banyumanik
District. In this training, material was
given about the reasons for choosing
dumbo catfish as a cultivated commodity,
how to transport good fish seeds, how to
acclimatize fish seeds, how to prepare
bucket containers, how to maintain water
quality, and how to clean bucket
containers (chiffon).

CAFFEINE-FREE GREEN TEA NANOPOLYPHENOLS AS FUNCTIONAL FOOD

INCORPORATION
Green tea contains tannins and polyphenols that are quite high as anti-oxidants, anti-
inflammatory, and anti-cancer that can prevent heart disease and stroke, inhibit the growth of
cancer cells, prevent diabetes, and can even lose weight and other benefits. However, green
tea contains caffeine which is not good for excessive consumption, even not good for
consumption in children and elderly. Lecturers of the Vocational School of Universitas
Diponegoro (UNDIP) research how the effects of caffeine from green tea can be minimized to
produce quality green tea that can be used as functional food so that anyone can consume it
without worrying about side effects.

CASSAVA INNOVATION INTO MOCAF
FLOUR AND MOCAF PROCESSED
CREATIONS
High cassava production during harvest
season causes the selling price of cassava to
be very low. The Women's Farmer Group
(KWT) located in Karangnongko Village,
Mojosongo District, Boyolali Regency, which is
an assisted village of the Faculty of Animal
and Agricultural Sciences UNDIP, has carried
out this innovation in processing cassava into
mocaf flour. Processing it into mocaf flour can
increase selling value and can be processed
into various processed food creations which
can increase food diversity.

provided was about the types of fish and their
processed products, as well as the fish-eating
movement initiated by the government, and
also displayed an animated video about the
importance of eating fish for elementary

were asked to fill out a questionnaire to find
out how they like consuming fish.

THE POTENTIAL OF OYSTER
MUSHROOMS AS AN INNOVATION IN
SUPPLEMENTARY FEEDING (PMT) FOR
TODDLERS
The oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is
one of the wood mushrooms that is widely
cultivated by the community. High protein
content in oyster mushrooms is needed by
the human body, especially during
toddlerhood because it is a substance that
supports growth and development. Undip
KKN students in Bergas Kidul Village,
Semarang Regency made mushroom
pudding innovations as PMT for toddlers in
three posyandu in Kenangkan hamlets,
Bergas Kidul Village. This innovation is
hoped to be a variation of PMT for mothers
of toddlers at home or be used as a variation
of PMT at Posyandu so that it can reduce the
prevalence of malnutrition or stunting in
toddlers.

One of the innovations of Undip KKN students
to increase food diversity is by making
seaweed meatballs from Kappaphycus
alvarezii carrageenan in Bugangan Village,

GYMNASTICS PROGRAME IN FACULTY
OF MEDICINE UNDIP
In order to maintain the health of lecturers
and staff, the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP
routinely conducts gymnastics every Friday
morning. Apart from maintaining health,
this exercise can also improve the
enthusiasm and mood of lecturers and
staff so that they become more
enthusiastic and focused at work. This
gymnastics activity can be participated in
by lecturers, staff, and students and is led
by professional gymnastics instructors who

FACULTY OF MEDICINE UNDIP HOLDS
SOCIAL SERVICE FOR CATARACT
SURGERY
Cataracts are the number one cause of
visual impairment and blindness both in
the world, in Indonesia, and in Central
Java. In celebration of the 61st Anniversary,
the Faculty of Medicine Undip held a
cataract surgery social service at
Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND)
which was attended by 10 patients from
Semarang City and outside Semarang City,
including Demak, Kudus, Salatiga, and
Kendal. The purpose of this activity is to
help reduce the rate of visual impairment
and blindness, especially due to cataracts.

ADOLESCENT NUTRITION
ASSISTANCE AT YOUTH POSYANDU
Adolescent Nutrition Assistance is carried
out at the Youth Posyandu of Ngesrep
Village, Semarang City under the scope of
work of the Ngesrep Community Health
Center. This activity was carried out by
lecturers of the Department of Nutrition,
Faculty of Medicine, UNDIP with
undergraduate Nutrition Community
Service students starting from January to
June 2022. The target of this activity is
teenagers and youth posyandu cadres in
Ngesrep Village. The activities carried out
include education, nutrition counseling,
Focus Group Discussion (FGD), monitoring
nutritional status, and cooking class
competition. The purpose of holding this
activity is to monitor the nutritional status
of adolescents who will enter the
preconception period so that they can
produce more qualified offspring.
STROKE CARE IMPROVEMENT
TRAINING
Stroke is the second leading cause of death
and disability in the world. A stroke results
in a loss of blood flow, nutrients, and
oxygen to a region of the brain, resulting in
nerve damage and subsequent neurological
deficits. The Indonesian Neurologist
Association (PERDOSSI) Semarang in
collaboration with KSM Neurology RSUP dr.
Kariadi Semarang held a training on
improving stroke care. The resource
persons for this training were lecturers from
the Neurology Study Program, Department
of Specialist Medicine, Faculty of Medicine,
UNDIP with material on the hyperacute
phase, pre-hospital management,
treatment of ischemic stroke, related to
neuroimaging in stroke patients.

SDGs PARK FOR SDGS EDUCATION GROW INTEREST IN READING

UNDIP launched SDGs Park as part of the
commitment to mainstreaming the SDGs
to the community. The SDGs Park is
located in the Marine Science Technopark
and integrated with the Mangrove Forest
that has been conserved. The SDGs Park
consist of several highlight location
representing the 17 of SDGs Goals,
includes Solar Tree Garden, Smart
Garden, Rare Plant Garden, Rain Garden,
Class in Nature Spot, and Mangrove
Museum. The SDGs Park also filled with
the information related to the SDGs issues
such as the treats of Global Warming,
Climate Change impact to the Society and
to the nature.
Initially, the Bergas Kidul Village Library
existed and ran from 2008 to early 2020.
Since the change in leadership and the
pandemic, the village library stopped
operating completely and the library
room changed its function to a multi-
purpose room. The reading corner re-
procurement program implemented by
UNDIP by collecting, managing and
repairing books in the library as well as
doing massive promotion for growing
the interest of reading within the village.
The village library program is very
beneficial for the community. This
program can increase people's reading
interest and literacy.

UNDIP’s COLLABORATION WITH UI GREENMETRIC IN THE UIGM ONLINE

COURSE “SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS PRACTICE IN INDONESIA”
The online course was conducted to learn about SDGs best practices and immediately
putting them into practice to create a better Indonesian economy in the future will help
Indonesia and strengthen our steps to reach the top six in the world economy in 2045. The
online course was designed so it is possible to provide experiences for student to study
outside their own study program. The student were discussing about the current issue that
are related to SDGs Goal 1 to 17, finding a problem and composing idea of solution as well as
innovation that can be implemented to accelerate the achievement of SDGs Goals.

COMMUNITY
Undip, through KKN students, provides
training to the women's community in
Bubakan sub-district to increase the
added value of livestock products. This
training is provided to improve skills for
women in an effort for gender equality.
Processing livestock products in the form
of goat's milk into beauty soap will
increase the selling price of the product.
The enthusiasm of the PKK women as
training participants is one of the positive
feedbacks. There was good mutual
communication, and the participants tried
the soap resulting from the training which
ultimately received a positive response.
RIGHTS AND GENDER EQUALITY
Undip has conducted outreach regarding
human rights and gender equality to high
school students. One of the human rights
is gender equality, namely the right to live
without fear, to be free to make life
choices, to live with dignity. Factors
causing gender problems is Patrilineal
cultural system. Most regions in Indonesia
currently still adhere to a patrilineal
cultural system, namely a system that
places men as holders of power. Men and
women should have the same rights, but
in the current era, many people
discriminate and do not give freedom to
different genders.

PREVENTION OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND LEGAL PROTECTION OF VICTIMS

As an implementation of SDG 5 Gender Equality, Undip is implementing a work program with
the title "Stop Domestic Violence Against Mothers and Children". This activity is carried out
door to door and the media used is posters, which are It contain information related to the
meaning of domestic violence, forms of domestic violence, prevention of domestic violence,
legal protection for victims of domestic violence, and also includes contacts for institutions
or authorized parties for someone to consult if an act of domestic violence occurs.

RAINWATER HARVESTING
Sugihmanik Village, Tanggungharjo District, Grobogan Regency has hydrological features
similar to karst places with geological conditions of 50% limestone, which allows the soil to

Departments of Industrial Engineering and Environmental Engineering conducted
community services to build rainwater reservoirs using a filtration procedure to lower lime
levels in water. The rainwater reservoirs design incorporates infiltration wells. If the reservoir
is full, water will flow automatically into infiltration well.

MAPPING OF GROUNDWATER
According to BPDB Semarang City from 2011,
Bubakan Urban Village, Mijen District, has the

contaminating river water and impeding
groundwater processing. Rubbish should be
prohibited in the RW 7 bridge region of
Sekaran Urban Village, Gunungpati District,

MARINE TECHNOLOGY STUDENT CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY

In 2022, UNDIP has just launched a solar boat
called DIPONEGORO 1.0. This solar-powered
ship is the result of research from the
Research Marine Technology, Diponegoro
University (RMT Undip). Undip has actively
contributed to the development of new
renewable energy and the support of
Indonesia's zero-emissions plan with the
launch of Solar Boat DIPONEGORO 1.0. RMT
Undip has carried out developments involving
solar power in the shipping sector.
Furthermore, RMT Undip innovated in making
the hull by using a multi-axial mixture and
mask pieces. Then, in the propulsion system,
DIPONEGORO 1.0 uses lithium-ion energy
storage, which is more efficient than
batteries.

a photocell sensor. The photocell sensor is a
sensor that works at night, so automatically,

The Faculty of Animal and Agriculture at

cow dung. The gas is channeled to a storage

The campus bus at Diponegoro University started operating on October 3, 2023. The purpose
of the campus bus is to make it easier for students to travel to and from college, avoid traffic

transportation, namely Trans Semarang Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), has limited access and
does not cover all faculties, the presence of campus bus will be very useful. Campus buses

INCREASING INCOME THROUGH MARINE SPREADING FISH AS AN EFFORT TO

PRODUCTS
Actions to process marine products have been
developed involving the people of Demak
Regency and the fisheries product technology
department. This action is a way of
accelerating the development of village
potential after the COVID-19 pandemic
outbreak in Central Java. The development of
regional planning and the research and
development agency (bappedda) of Central
Java Province took part in holding this action,
considering that fish and shrimp are the main
products in Timbulsloko Village, so they can
increase income. This activity begins with
handling fish and shrimp, processing fish and
shrimp into value-added products, and
packaging and labelling fishery products.
ECOENZYM
Ecoenzyme is the result of the fermentation of
household waste such as fruit and vegetables,
which is then mixed with brown sugar and
water. The ratio of ingredients used is 1: 3: 10

water). In November 2022, UNDIP collaborated
with UI Greenmetric and the Sustainable

influenced by internal and external plant factors. Internal factors are those related to the nature
and genetics of the plant. Some plants are resistant to disease and environmental factors, but
some are less resistant. Meanwhile, external factors are those related to the environment and
biotic factors. Environmental factors are agro-climatic conditions, nutrition, and soil fertility, while

Sustainable Shrimp Farming is an intensive

water. By implementing sustainable
aquaculture practices, it can support
economic growth that goes hand in hand
with global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions.
ECOPRINT: ECO-FRIENDLY PRINTING
Effort to prevent and reduce the impact of
climate change can be done by applying the
concept of green economy. UNDIP
conducted socialization and training for the
community related to Ecoprint which was
carried out in Purwoyoso village, Semarang,
Central Java. Ecoprinting is a printing
technique with natural fabric dyeing using
environmentally friendly organic materials
such as leaves and flowers. By reducing the
use of chemical inks and plain paper, we
significantly reduce the carbon footprint and
waste generated by the printing industry.
Ecoprint does not require large capital, just
by using organic materials that are around,
ecoprint products can have quite high selling

SOLAR TREE
Universitas Diponegoro is committed and
participates in action to deal with climate change
by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which can
increase the impact of global warming, namely by
utilizing environmentally friendly solar panels. The
Solar Tree installed at MSTP UNDIP, Jepara is an
installation of an electricity supply system sourced
from solar energy that is made to resemble several
types of trees, such as banana trees. One solar tree
installation consists of 5 leaf branches equipped
with solar panels to absorb solar energy which is
then converted into electrical energy.

MANGROVE PLANTING
Mangrove forests have the same role as other
forests, namely CO₂ absorbers so that they can
help in preventing climate change. Universitas
Diponegoro is active in mangrove planting
activities in various coastal areas in Indonesia,
such as mangrove planting activities in Batang
Regency, especially the Walukiting Beach area,

PORTABLE EXTRUDER MACHINE AS A NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE

Universitas Diponegoro through Diponegoro Energy and Technology / DIPOERGITEK created a tool called
Portable Extruder Machine. This is a small-scale hyacinth bio briquette producing machine. Briquette
pellets from these hyacinths can be used as a new and renewable energy source. The benefits of this
technology application include creating environmentally friendly alternative fuels so as to reduce the use
of fossil fuels every year.

WATER RESOURCES CONSERVATION RESTORATION OF DEGRADED

MOVEMENT
The Undip SDGs Center's consistency in
actively carrying out actions to care for the
environment continues to this day. One form
of maintaining water resources is cleaning
rivers. The Undip SDGs Center together with

Students from the Faculty of Law at Diponegoro University, have carried out an educational
program on the prevention of sexual harassment crimes in Kalipancur, Semarang. They are
working to prevent sexual harassment crimes that are still prevalent among young people,
especially women. These actions include raising awareness among youngsters, educating
about the importance of preventing sexual violence crimes, and promoting legal literacy
related to these issues. It is hoped that sexual harassment crimes, as defined by Law No. 12 of
2022, can be reduced through these efforts, protecting women and creating a safer
environment.
COLLABORATE WITH PKK CADRES TO OPTIMIZE THE FAMILY'S ROLE IN
PREVENTING JUVENILE DELINQUENCY
Factors like parental education, an inharmonious family environment, social media influence, and
peer relationships play a role in promoting teenage delinquency, such as drug use, street fighting,
and other criminal activities that threaten social order and the future of a country. A survey revealed
the characteristics of delinquent children, which, if left unaddressed, could be the root of teenage
delinquency problems. A college student is empowering the PKK mothers to educate them about the
family's role in shaping good character in children and preventing teenage delinquency. This
program will enhance parental understanding in the area of the importance of the family's role in
guiding children to stay away from teenage delinquency.

SOCIALIZATION WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS REGARDING JUVENILE

DELINQUENCY
This program was aimed at 11th-grade students, approximately 17 years old, who often
experience transitional phases that may lead to juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency
refers to deviant behaviour involving violations of norms, rules, or laws during adolescence.
In this activity, students actively responded to the material with the hope that they would
understand the importance of having good self-control and choosing positive social
relationships, thereby avoiding deviant behaviour.

solution by using design thinking and system thinking. The program were run in the 6 months time
frame and conducted online. It also involves many sectors such as industrial entities, academics, NGO
from diverse background. The program were designed with simple curriculum and study case that
taken within the student's environment. Supports such as toolbox on how the students can analyses
the problem and to formulate am innovation and solution were also provided.

UNDIP AND UNICEF STRENGTHEN ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY TO

OPTIMIZE UNDIP'S ROLE IN OVERCOMING HEALTH PROBLEMS
UNDIP joined hands with UNICEF since 2006. Until this date, UNDIP has conducted many activities
and programs to solve the health problem especially in Central Java. Most of the work is related to
sanitation problem, stunting and triple burden as well as sexual harassment. According to the
statistics many sexual harassment were happened at higher education institutions. As an UN
representative, UNICEF has an obligation to making sure that all the community realized there has
to be no sexual harassment in UNDIP.

3 COUNTRIES COLLABORATE TO FIGHT SIGNING CEREMONY IMPLEMENTATION

CLIMATE CHANGE
Researchers of UNDIP in collaboration with
Tohoku University (Japan), University of The
Philippines (Philippines), and University of
The Ryukyus (Japan) successfully accepted in
the E-Asia Joint Research Program. In
addition to universities in Japan and the
Philippines. This research collaboration also
involves researchers and students from
research and educational institutions in
Indonesia and abroad such as from
Srinakharinwirot University (Thailand),
Philippine Coral Bleaching Watch, BRIN, ITB,
and ecotourism activists in Bali. The
collaboration program chaired by Dr. Anindya
Wirasatria will last from 2022 to 2024, and is a
program funded by the governments of the
three countries and aims to research the
phenomenon of marine heat waves in the
Pacific ocean.

The signing of the Implementation
Arrangement between the Dean of the Faculty
of Engineering and Technische Universitat
Muncen (TUM) represented by Prof. Walter
Timo de Fries was held on October 5, 2022.
The signing of the IA shows the commitment
of both parties to intensively continue to
cooperate in various academic activities.
As one of the Adjunct Professors at the
Department of Urban and Regional Planning
(DPWK) UNDIP, Prof. Walter Timo de Fries has
carried out several activities including the
preparation of joint research proposals
(collaborative research), public lectures,
lectures at undergraduate or postgraduate
studies.

Journal of Sustainability Perspectives (JSP) is a cross-disciplinary scholarly,
open access journal of environmental, cultural, economic and social
sustainability of human beings, which provides an advanced forum for studies
related to sustainability and sustainable development. It publishes reviews,
regular research papers (original article), communications and short notes.

REMARKS
Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) continues to strive to
float and implement various programs in line with the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Various
activities and programs developed by Undip are
directly related to the 17 goals proclaimed. These
efforts are carried out as part of Undip's policy in
achieving the vision of becoming a superior research
university, in addition to the implementation of Tri
Dharma Higher Education which is education, research
and community service. In addition, various programs
and activities were apparently in line with Undip's
efforts to develop a sustainable campus that is
advanced / modern, safe and comfortable for the
learning and teaching process. The great support from
all academicians and Undip partners is very helpful in
the successful implementation of planned programs
