Crochet pattern

The puppy

Designed by Antonina Naimonova


Crochet in continuous spirals.
Put a stitch marker (or use a scrap of contrasting yarn) at the beginning of each
round.
The finished toy using a 4.5 mm crochet hook is ~9 inches / 23 cm tall without
antennas.

THE REQUIRED MATERIALS:


- yarn "Himalaya Dolphin Baby"
- black cotton yarn for embroidering the smile and eyelids (I use Iris yarn)
- 4.5 mm crochet hook (or any different crochet hook that matches your yarn)
- 2 safety eyes D=16 mm (you can use different eye beads to your taste)
- nose 2*1.5 cm
- stuffing material (fiberfill, polyester)

ABBREVIATIONS (US):
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
inc – increase – two single crochet in one stitch
dec – decrease – two single crochet together
(….) х 6 times – repeat as instructed
(12) – number of single crochet in the row
HDC – half double crochet
Ears:

I wanted to make puffier ears, so I used a 6 mm crochet hook.


You may use the basic crochet hook.

1. Chain 2, and start working in the second chain from hook: 6sc

Crochet two extra single crochet to adjust the ear.

Stuff (gently) the bottom half of the ear.

Flatten together and crochet 6 sc through both loops.

Fasten off and hide the tail.

Bottom paws (make 2):

Start with white yarn

Change to the basic yarn

Stuff (gently) the bottom half of the part.

Flatten together and crochet 6 sc through both loops across.

Fasten off and hide the tail inside.


Upper paws (make 2):

With white yarn

Change to basic yarn

Stuff (gently) the bottom of the paws.

Flatten together and crochet 5 sc through both loops across.

Fasten off and hide the tail inside.

Tail:

Flatten together and crochet 4 sc through both loops.

Fasten off and hide the tail.

Body:

In the next round, crochet the bottom paws and tail into the body

In the next round, crochet the upper paws into the body

Fasten off, leaving yarn tail.

Stuff with fiberfill.

Muzzle:

1.Chain 6, and start working in the second chain from hook:


6 sc, inc, 3sc, 3 sc in the first chain, continue crocheting on the other side of
the chain 4sc.
In total, there are 12sc. See the pattern.

Place a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of the round


and continue crocheting as usual.

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
Head:

In the next round, crochet the ears into the head

If you use safety eyes, then insert them between rounds 8 and 9 (the distance
between the eyes is 5 sc).
Install the eyes on the side of the head where the distance between the ears is
wider.

Stuff with fiberfill.

Fasten off and break yarn.


Sew the muzzle between rounds 9 and 16.

Stuff it with fiberfill. Pin it to the head and complete stuffing.

The bottom side of the muzzle is at the beginning of the round.

If you use a safety nose, then do not sew the muzzle to the end and insert the
nose between rounds 4 and 5. Count from the muzzle upward.

If you do not use a ready nose, then embroider it with black plush yarn (or any
desired yarn).

Sculpt the eye sockets.

Thread the needle with black cotton yarn and insert the needle in the middle of
the bottom under the muzzle.

Draw the needle out on the outer side under the left eye.

Insert the needle on the inner side under the same eye and draw out under the
muzzle, skipping 1 sc from the initial point.

Tighten and tie into a knot.

Sculpt the second eye.

Continue crocheting without breaking yarn.


Make the stripe across the muzzle.

Insert the needle in the center under the muzzle and


draw out under the nose and the muzzle.

Tighten, tie into a knot and break yarn.

Repeat one more time if you want to make the stripe


more visible.

Make one stitch under the eyes with white plush yarn.

Embroider the eyelids above the eyes and make one


stitch across the muzzle with black cotton yarn (I used a
double Iris yarn).

Sew the head to the body.

Embroider the claws on the paws.

Our puppy is finished!
