What did Madam Dragon teach the dragons? There are five lessons. See if you can list
them all.

Think about what else Madam Dragon could teach the dragons next?

Write out a sentence to explain why you think Madam Dragon should teach the dragons
your activity next.

Use the subordinating conjunctions “because” to help you explain.

For example: I think Madam Dragon should teach ______________ to the dragons
next because____________________________________________________.

There is an additional PowerPoint that has interactive activities and games.

What is the difference between the two words in the table below?

We call words like “cat” a singular noun because it describes only one thing.

We call words like “cats” a plural noun because it describes more than one of
that thing.

If Madam Dragon was teaching your lesson, what questions would she be asking her
dragon pupils when she is teaching them? Practise writing these questions out making
sure you punctuate your questions correctly.

For example, during Madam Dragon’s flying lesson I might suggest she asked these
questions to the dragons:

 How high can you fly?

 Can you fly higher than me?

cat cats

box boxes

What do you notice about the words in the table above?

Sometimes we need to add the suffix “es” to turn it into a plural

noun. This happens when the singular noun ends in ch/sh/ss/x/zz.

Example: box- ends in an x so instead of the plural noun being “boxs”

it is spelt “boxes”

Can you think of any examples of singular nouns that need the “es”
suffix to turn it into a plural noun?
