Concept

COURSE TITLE
The Project Concept
The report of group 1 regarding The Project Concept is divided into two components,
namely: Definition of a Project and Attributes & Characteristics of Project. The topic
regarding the Definition of a Project was discussed by Kevin John Ycoy while the
Attributes & Characteristics of Project was discussed by Ana Katrina Conchada.

First, Definition of a Project, it is defined as a sequence of task that needs to be

accomplished in order to achieve a certain outcome/goal. In other words, a project is a
collaboration of different task that is interconnected to attain a certain outcome/goal. It
can also refer to any short-term venture which has a clear beginning and end. A quick
example of a project is by starting and finishing a certain task to attain a specific goal. It
can also be overseen by a single individual or by hundreds of people.

Overall A project is a collection of tasks that

must be completed in order to reach the
desired goal or achieve a particular
outcome.
Depending on the extent and nature of the
project, these tasks may be simple or
complex, but all projects can be broken down
into simpler objectives. This is to determine
the task or target that must be accomplished
first which might be critical for the project.
In this way we can characterize and
prioritize certain objectives to reach/achieve
your goal faster.

Second is the Project Concept, A project

concept is a statement that provides
direction, depth, and meaning to a project or
program. It is used to sell a project and to
formulate decision or strategy. Project
concepts are guidelines that help in
determining targets or objectives. It is a
method of finding out the scope or purpose
of the project.

Next would be the project, is a process that

involves the implementation of a plan.
Projects serve as instruments to help
companies or individuals in learning,
changing, adapting, improving, and
implementing innovative processes,
products, or technology. Project
management is critical in different varieties of businesses and industries.

2
THE PROJECT CONCEPT
While the goals and objectives can be met in any setting, they are reached more
effectively and efficiently inside a project management structure. Initially, project
management was reserved for special projects such as the delivery of new and innovative
products or the start of a digital transformation. Today, more organizations,
particularly large ones, are using project management to fulfill routine operational tasks
with greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Last would be the various nature of a project, a project can be Big or Small and it can be
performed by a large number of people or only yourself. When we say “Big”- It can be as
big as The Skyway project, it can take years to finish and have large amount of budget.
While when we say “Small”- it can be as small as just paving the front of your house or
even finishing house chores.

When it comes to the one who will do the project, it can be a large number of people-
where it involves many individual participations to complete the project like in a
wedding or a large symposium. It can be performed by yourself - this is where you are
the only one involved in the project like arranging your own birthday at your house.
