Outline for Problem-Solution Essay

Introduction

Hook: According to TD Economics (2024), the adoption of AI across industries could

lead to an output increase of 5%-8% over the baseline over the next decade. Therefore, the

quality of living can be improved day by day and people have a lot of chances to live in an

industrial country, make more money to enjoy their lives.

Background Information (What is the problem? Who is affected by the problem?

What the consequences will be if this problem is not solved?):

Despite those development technologies, many people face to face with the challenges

that they could lose their jobs. Without working, people do not have income and can’t enhance

their lives or take care of their families.

Thesis (introduce solution): However, workers and employers must normally update

themselves to catch up and overcome the ability of AI and Automatic technologies.

Body Paragraph #1: Problem

(Elaborate on the problem. Give details and evidence to support your claims.)

Topic/First Sentence

The main problem is that modern technologies and AI could replace people's positions in

social life. Because we are living in an industrial country with a high quality of life, we can

easily encounter technologies everywhere. Technology exists on the streets, in buildings, and

almost in alleys; whatever you do, or wherever you go, you will be under the supervision of it. A

report put out in February 2016 by Citibank in partnership with the University of Oxford

predicted that 47% of US jobs are at risk of automation. In the UK, 35% are. In China, it's a

whopping 77% — while across the OECD it's an average of 57%. Furthermore, three of the

world's 10 largest employers are now replacing their workers with robots (Price, 2016). That is

the reason why all of us must improve our ability to get more experience and success at work;

otherwise, the more modern technology, the more unemployed you are. According to Price

(2016), technology has already gutted many traditional factory-type jobs — but now it may also

wreak havoc with the middle classes. Automation and technology provided and expanded new

opportunities, transforming industries. Nonetheless, positions that entail repetitive operations or

are readily codified are at danger of becoming automated, potentially affecting a wide range of

professions other than industrial workers. Many experts recommend investing in education and

training programs to provide workers with job-specific skills.

Body Paragraph #2

(Explain your solution clearly - what will be done? Give details about why this is a suitable
solution. Give evidence that your solution will work (expert opinion, examples of when it has
worked before, statistics, studies, or logical argument.)

Updating yourselves enhances your skills and experiences, that means the money you can
receive from working based on your effort and time you spend on. For example, Santens, a
leader in the universal basic income (UBI) movement—a worldwide network of thousands of
advocates who believe that all of citizen must be provided monthly an enough monthly salary to
improve life’s necessities by the governments, believes that the rate of job creation is falling
behind the speed of automation, prompting him to view a government-provided income as a
feasible solution (Wheeler, D. (2015, May 18). What if everybody didn’t have to work to get
paid. The Atlantic.

Conclusion

(Wrap up your argument - restate your thesis and emphasize why your solution will work and
what the possible implications/impacts would be.)
