solar power projects in India and the Philippines.

Good to hear from you. I am very sorry to hear
about your problem. There’s nothing that we can’t
work out if we put our minds to it, right?
I hear you, girl! It must be very frustrating to go
through this issue just when we are back in school.
Putting on weight is not something that you
should be overly concerned about. Trust me. I’ve
been where you are now. You need to be mindful
of what you eat at all times. The best advice would
be to bring food from home. This way, you needn’t
wait in the long line during recess. In addition,
you’d be able to save some money! The next best
thing to do and you must do is – start exercising!
You do not have to go the park or join a gym. All
you need to do is go up and down the stairs in your
house 10 times! Ok, 5 times! Please don’t lose hope
or be dejected about this issue that can be solved
easily enough. We have youth on our side and thus,
our metabolism is higher than adults.

we should refrain from engaging in time-consuming
activities like socialising with friends and being on
social media.
Of course, one of the main benefits of making
early preparations is it boosts our confidence during
the examination. When we are confident, we can
reach new heights of academic success. Taking
examinations can be stressful. We may be anxious
and worried about what questions will be asked and
how we will fare. By preparing for the examination
early, we will feel better about our capabilities. It
helps to take the edge off of our fear knowing we
have done our best in preparing well.
Apart from having a personal timetable that suits
our needs and is practical enough for us to follow, we
need to have determination and the will to succeed.
These attributes can and will assure us of success
because we will have the right mindset to start with.

Since the pandemic began, everyone has been
advised to be extra careful, practise proper hygiene
and social distancing. For some time, there were
strict lockdowns that didn’t allow people to go out
unless absolutely necessary. While such preventive
measures may have been necessary, it also posed
challenging to some. For instance, going out to
physically shop in stores was quite a challenge if
you were trying to stay away from people to keep
yourself and your family virus-free and healthy.
With online shopping, you can purchase almost
anything from the comfort of your home. All you
have to do is set up your accounts for online payment
methods, place the orders and wait for them to arrive at
your doorstep.
Shopping online made it very convenient
during the pandemic. You don’t even have to bring
out physical money since you can pay conveniently
online using debit or credit cards or even e-wallets.
Online shopping also provides us with peace of mind
while enabling us to purchase what we need.
However, the downside of online shopping is the
lack of interaction with the products. Whe we shop

for something physically, we can handle the products
and inspect it carefully, making sure it exactly what
we want. We can also avoid getting goods that are

can be difficult to check sizing, quality and so on just
by looking at pictures online.
On top of that, with fewer people heading to shops,
many employees have been laid off. This has many
economic repercussions as more people face economic
hardships, with jobs more and more difficult to come by.
The number of businesses that have wound up will all
impact the country’s economic stability and eventually
trickle down to the common man.
Despite some limitations, I believe that it’s only
smart that you limit your exposure to the outside
world as much as possible and purchase goods online
to practise social distancing. It’s certainly better than
being among strangers and exposing yourself to the
dangers of being infected.

Danny was the only son of hawkers. Although their
income was small, his parents were happy and did
everything to please him. As a spoilt teenager, Danny
did whatever he wished. He started making friends
with shady characters and became interested only
in having a good time, freely spending his parents’
hard-earned money. So, he dropped out of school.
Believing that he could do better than his parents who
worked hard yet earned little, he dreamt of getting
rich without sweat and toil.
Soon, he was on the wrong side of the law. He
became a conman but after a while, people were no
longer fooled. Desperate, Danny became a pickpocket
and, later, turned to extortion. Danny’s mother once
advised him to turn over a new leaf. However, he
was still convinced that he could make a fortune
without hard work. Danny thought his chance had
finally come when his friend told him of a scheme
that would make them rich till the end of their lives.
It all seemed well-planned when the mastermind
explained it to Danny. They would rob a bank and
escape in a stolen lorry, abandon it outside town and
continue their journey in a stolen car, which they would
get rid of in a disused mining pool before crossing the
border. Then they would live as rich men.
It was not meant to be. Before they could grab
enough money, one of the bank tellers had managed
to push a hidden alarm button. As police came
screeching around the corner, Danny and his friends
barely managed to flee in the lorry, but not before a
security guard ripped off Danny’s mask in a tussle.
Danny quickly turned his face away but turned it to
full focus of the security camera. The getaway driver,
in panic, made a left turn instead of a right and took
an unfamiliar road. They reached a tunnel for which
the lorry was too high and had no choice but to jump
off and try to escape on foot.
In his bare and gloomy jail cell, Danny finally
admitted to himself that ‘crime does not pay’.
