Maths

1) Collect the data of the gender ratio of any five neighbouring countries of India (including
India) and represent it on the graph paper beautifully and paste it on the A-4 size coloured sheet.

(Hint: Draw double bar graph)

2) Revise Ch. 1 Rational Numbers and Ch. 2 Linear Equations in One Variable

3) Integrated Activity – Make an attractive project by writing and pasting pictures on

'Mathematics around us' on the A-4 sized ruled coloured sheets and compile it in a file. (Use
minimum 5 sheets). For example, managing money, figuring out distance, time and cost for
travel, etc.

4) Do the given assignment on the ruled sheet.

i) Use an appropriate property and solve:

7 3 7 5 9 4 9 3
a) {15 x (- 12)} + {15 x 12} b) {16 x 12} + {16 x - 9}

2 3 5 3 1
c) -3 x 5 + 2 - 5 x 6

−2 4
ii) Find the multiplicative inverse of x 3.
5

−3 5 −1
iii) Verify the property: x x (y + z) = (x x y) + (x x z) by taking x = 4
, y = 2 and z = 6

4 7
iv) Find five rational numbers between 5 and 6.

v) The sum of a two-digit number is 6. On reversing its digits, the number is 18 less than the
original number. Find the number.

vi) The sum of three consecutive numbers is 156. Find the number which is a multiple of 13 out
of these numbers.

vii) A lady went to a bank with a cheque of 1,00,000. She asked the cashier to give her 200
and 500 currency notes in return. She got 320 currency notes in all. Find the number of each
kind of currency notes.

viii) The numerator of a fraction is 6 less than the denominator. If 1 is added to both the
1
numerator and the denominator, the fraction becomes 2. Find the fractions.

ix) Present ages of Sasha and Manisha are in the ratio 4:5. Eight years from now, the ratio of
their ages will be 5:6. Find their present ages.

x) The sum of the digits of a 2-digit number is 9. On reversing its digits, the new number
obtained is 45 more than the original number. Find the number.

SOCIAL SCIENCE

Prepare a flip book on the topic protecting our earth of around 10 sheets.

Details:

1. For the first five sheets of the flip book, prepare 'to do list for the planet Earth' i.e. what can be
done and needs to be done to make earth a better place to live in (general points).

•Prepare list to save our resources i.e. land, soil, water, energy, air, environment, plants, and
animals.

2. For the second half of the flip book i.e. next five sheets, list all the steps that the student and
parent has done or taken initiative (in summer break/ in general) to make earth a better place to
live in. (specific steps):

* Like efforts to switch off the lights whenever not in use.

Use of bicycle by student in order to commute to nearby places rather than using car or any other
vehicle which produces smoke and hence air pollution.

* Also paste pictures for specific efforts taken in order to make earth a better place to live in.

Where to do: Use 5 A3 size sheets, divide them in half in order to prepare a flip book (Use
colourful sheets). The cover page of the flip book has to be really attractive.

Irreversible, Physical and Chemical
 Materials Required: Paper, Scissors, Clay, Any two Vegetables,
Vinegar, Bakingsoda, Icecubes, rubberband.
 How to do:
 Look at the observation table given below and perform the activities to
observe the change
 Also click your photographs while conducting the experiments.

2. chopping vegetables

3. adding vinegar to
baking soda

4. melting ice

5. clay modeling

6. stretching a rubber
band

Also, research about the following and write in your Science Project File.

b) What are Chemical changes? How to identify a Chemical change?
c) Is it necessary that all the physical changes are reversible
changes? Explain with the help of an example.
d) Can a physical change and a chemical change occurs
simultaneously? Explain with example.
