FINAL EVALUATION

During our rehearsal phase we did many different types of rehearsal techniques including
changing the dynamics of scenes and changing the intentions in order to grasp the scene in
a different way, in a way that we can be familiar and comfortable with the scenes so that we
can perform and stage it in a way that is most effective and using our skills to the fullest
they can. During our rehearsing I definitely learnt a lot and gained some new skills, for
example because of workshops we did I have learnt how important body language and how
the way you carry yourself can change the scene entirely, as well as how we achieve this on
stage, this helped me because it allowed me to use my body in a way to communicate to the
audience what my character to thinking and how they are feeling in each scene. A skill I
have learnt would be my projection, I feel that’s something from the last performance I
wanted to improve on, to do this during line learning I immediately worked on projecting
and being loud enough. And I feel that I improved during rehearsal and made my
performance better. What went well during rehearsals for me was my production role, as I
feel that I planned, managed and organized my role in costumes effectively, because
reflecting on last year, I am more organized and put in more time and effort into the
development of costume and design. All these rehearsal and development skills. A problem I
faced during rehearsals was blocking and staging ideas, I found that it was challenging to
stage a scene in a way that was effective to the scenes intentions. However I feel that my
rehearsal development and progress led me to a successful performance, it went very well
and my rehearsal period was definitely valuable to my final performance, I feel that now I
have so many techniques for future rehearsals, next time I aim to spend more time
exploring body language and how I can Convery a characters feelings even more using my
body and stance during a scene.
During my phase of research, I tried my best to cover all levels of information that would
benefit me and my role throughout the production process, by looking into my characters
intentions, phycology, similar people as well as inspiration for my costume designing, I
looked into articles and research in order to gain a strong understanding of each element
this role needed me to be familiar with. One thing I learnt was that my characters behaviour
is due to insecurity and that there is phycological explanations to explain why he is the way
he is and I found this very interesting when learning about my character, I feel like I
definitely developed my skills in valuable research as I found very relevant topics that I
effectively used in my rehearsals. A problem I did have was finding different people or
characters that I felt resonated with the characters in the play for my costume inspiration. I
found this challenging because all the characters in the play are incredibly unique and
distinct to there ways which is why I felt it was so important to give there costume designs
so much care and thought. The final performance was amazing! My research was used in
every aspect of my character personality and my portrayal of emotions throughout as well
as all the costumes for each character during the scene. Moving forward I definetley have
developed my ability to effectively research intro a role, however next time I would take
more care into researching science and more Indepth phycology of my character than I have
this time, as it would allow me to even further connect and understand my character.
During our production week we did lots of preparing, rehearsing and improving, we
prepared our voices doing warmups and projecting even more during rehearsals, we did
multiple run throughs taking feedback and cleaning up every detail of the production. I feel
that over this week I learned a lot about how quickly a production can change and be
improved as well as be polished, I also learned how quickly things can go wrong during a
show week such as having to adapt to new staging and lighting, however these challenges
and experiences have only developed my skills in handling them and overcoming them. The
final production itself was a great success I was proud and happy with how it all played out,
it was slick, polished and everything we planned it to be, all the challenges all the hard work
had a positive outcome, if I was to do anything differently I would have taken more time to
make a bigger more unique set.

In response to feedback, I noted down what we needed to improve and change, then as a
group we would look over these notes and take time to reflect and improve them.
