3. Approved and correct rigging practices are

4. Rigging equipment is: in good condition
with no apparent signs of excess damage
and wear.
5. Rigging equipment is inspected and colour
coded.
6. Rigging gear is entered into the lifting gear
register and inspections are documented.
7. Lifting gear being used is rated for the lift
being performed.
8. Crane and lifting gear hooks are equipped
with safety latches.
9. The gaps on hook throats are regularly
measured to detect changes in the hook
gaps.
10. When lifting two tag lines of adequate
length, are used to control the load.
11. The area is barricaded and access
controlled by a watchmen.

working platforms required for riggers to:
unhook or adjust the positioning of the
load, especially during spool placement.
