Exploring the Impact of Learning Styles on Academic Performance in Business Mathematics among Grade 11
Accountancy, Business, and Management Students (2023-2024) at Saint Jude Parish School.

II. OBJECTIVE

• Determine and examine the different learning styles that are most common among ABM students in the
eleventh grade.

• Analyze the connection between students’ academic success in business mathematics and their preferred
methods of learning.

• Find out if improving business mathematics learning outcomes overall involves modifying instructional tactics

• Examine how individual variations in learning styles affect how effective classroom instruction is.

• Based on the learning styles of their pupils, ABM should advise teachers on how to use efficient teaching
techniques.

III. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The study aimed to explore the Impact of Learning Styles on Academic Performance in Business Mathematics
among Grade 11 Accountancy, Business, and Management Students (2023-2024) at Saint Jude Parish School.

For the enhanced teaching strategies, the study can help educators tailor their teaching methods to match the
learning styles of students, leading to more effective and engaging instruction in business mathematics.

For improved academic performance, by understanding how learning styles influence academic performance,
educators can implement targeted interventions to optimize learning outcomes and enhance student achievement
in business mathematics.

For personalized education, the study can contribute to the development of personalized education approaches
that cater to the diverse learning styles of students, creating a more inclusive and student-centered learning
environment.

For the educational policy implications, the findings of the study can inform educational policies and
curriculum development, ensuring that teaching practices align with the learning needs and preferences of
Grade 11 students in Accountancy, Business, and Management.

And the contribution to research, the study adds to the existing body of knowledge on the relationship between
learning styles and academic performance, providing valuable insights for future research and educational
practices.

V. CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the result of our study was to investigate the effect of learning style on academic performance in
business mathematics among grade 11 accounting and business management students at Saint Jude Parish
School. Saint Jude parish school in the 2023 – 2024 academic year emphasizes the importance of student
strategies in their academic performance.

50% of students voted to read and write as their strategies to improve their academic performance. These
strategies post their critical thinking and problem-solving skills development through their academic activities.

Also, 8.2% students voted auditory as their strategy to improve their academic performance. Because they said
that they preferred to listen to study the particular activities and also, they said that they can learn more through
listening.

Furthermore, 11.8% of students vote visual learning as their academic strategies. Because they said visualizing
helps them to develop abstract ideas and makes it easier for them to understand comply concept and retain
information.

By investigating the effects of learning style on academic performance in business mathematics. Students
proved their learning style is effective. Because, based on their grades that showing below, their grade average
is enough to prove their academic strategies are effective and also, they show that they can study smart
according to their learning styles.
