Did Ms. Thompson, in a way contribute to Teddy’s positive development? Explain why and how
in the context of Meads and Cooley’s thoughts on self concept development.

Absolutely, Ms. Thompson probably helped Teddy become a better person by using
ideas from Mead and Cooley. Mead thought people figure out who they are by how they interact
with others. So, when Ms. Thompson was nice to Teddy and supported him, it made him feel
good about himself. She showed him how to be confident and positive by treating him kindly.
Basically, Ms. Thompson helped Teddy see himself in a good way by being supportive and
encouraging.

Also, Cooley said that people see themselves the way they think others see them. So, if
Ms. Thompson treated Teddy well, he probably felt good about himself. Her encouragement
made Teddy think he was good at things and worth something. And when she gave him advice
and helped him improve, it made him see himself in a better way. So basically, Ms. Thompson's
kindness helped Teddy think he was capable and valuable.

In simple terms, Ms. Thompson probably made Teddy feel good about himself by being
nice and helpful. She praised him and helped him when things were tough, which made him
believe in himself more. This made Teddy feel like he was good at things and could handle
challenges. Overall, Ms. Thompson's support was really important for Teddy's self-confidence
and how he saw himself, which is what Mead and Cooley talked about.
