1. Introduction
The main reason of making this procedure is to make guidance for Vulcan user to have the right
procedure to plot a map as needed.

2. Responsible
All Vulcan users who will use plot tools.

3. Definition and Abbreviation


*dgd = base file for running Vulcan software where all the design file saved
*dg1 = base file for running Vulcan software that consist of your range working area (Easting
Northing and Elevation)
*dgx = base file for running Vulcan software for all the system and index design file that follows
*.dgd

4. Reference
This Vulcan Software is referring to Vulcan Help menu that available in Vulcan 4.5 and Vulcan 6.0
version menu.

This working procedure is not related with other procedures.

6. Standard Document and Form


There is no standard document and form that related with this SJP.

7. Training and Other Qualification


Basic training that should followed by Vulcan user is:
- Basic knowledge about Computer and Hardware
- Basic Vulcan

8. Environment, Health and Safety Consideration


Good communication between Vulcan user and other section that are using Vulcan software is
important due to limited Vulcan license in PT. Inco because it might affect to the bad working
condition if all the Vulcan user is selfish

9. Procedure
9.1. Preparation
- Make sure that in you working directory, you already have all the files below:
1. *.dgd
2. *.dg1
3. *.dgx

9.2. Job Execution

1. Load all layers that want to be plotted.

2. Plot all design that have already loaded; go to file > plot > plot all wizard > fill Plot Filename
cell (ex. SJP) > next

Fill sheet size cell (choose sheet size as needed, ex. A3) > click sheet orientation (landscape or
portrait) > next

Click Plot Grid and Fill vertical & horizontal line spacing cell as needed > next

Click manual scale adjustment and fill plot scale cell as needed > adjust extents

> drag the boundary (yellow boundary) to area that will be plotted > right click > finish

3. After the file ready to plot, choose the printer & the page (as we defined before)

4. File > Print > setup printer as usual.

5. The map will be viewed without legend or description. The legend can be displayed if you
click use drafting sheet in the first step of plotting; go to file > plot > plot all wizard > click use
drafting sheet > choose drafting sheet as needed > next.
The next step is same as above (point 2-4).
