Dangerous Liaisons (Les Liaisons Dangereuses) is based on the novel by Frenchman Pierre
Choderlos de Laclos. In 1988, Glenn Close, John Malkovich and Michelle Pfeiffer starred in
the most popular version of this story; between the costumes, the makeup, the artistic
direction and the performances they raised the story to an unimaginable height. then
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon (actors of the time), starred
in a version called cruel intentions.
This new and latest original version of France arrived on Netflix on July 8, it is directed by
the actress and comedian Rachel Suissa and it is mainly a film in which your bets are made
to have certain conquests.

In the 2022 version of Dangerous Liaisons, we meet the studious Célène, an idealistic
teenager who believes in true love and shows more interest in reading than social media.
She is preparing to leave Paris for the town of Biarritz and live for a while away from
Pierre, her fiancé. However, she will soon have to face the evil elite of her new school,
ruled by Vanessa, a former movie star and queen of Instagram, and the famous surfer
Tristan.
The beautiful coastal scenery and attractive leads are quite pleasing to the eye, but they
can't make up for the over-the-top acting and forced story.

the story is taken to the context of social networks, its integration is artificial and often
touches the ridiculous: far from looking like real teenagers on Instagram or Tik Tok, this
seems much more like a vague imitation of what someone thinks of teenagers on these
networks.
