Subject Questions Submission

Candidates will be required to undertake one written assignment of 1500-2000 words


which should be structured as below
1. A title in the form of a question to explore the drama or short stories/poems
2. Written assignment must follow the structure given below

Candidates are expected to complete two projects, one from Section A and one from
either Section B or Section C.
Maximum marks of each Project is 10.
The list of suggested assignments for Project Work:
SECTION A
1. Using Venn diagram, verify the distributive law for three given non-empty sets A, B
and C.
2.Using argand plane, interpret geometrically, the meaning of and its
integral powers.
3. Obtain a formula for the series :
(i) the sum of the squares of n natural numbers
(ii) the sum of cubes of n natural numbers.
4. Obtain the equation of straight line in Normal form, for 𝜶 (the angle between the 19th
normal drawn from origin to the line and x-axis) in following cases: August
Mathematics
(i) 𝛼 < 90° (ii) 90° < 𝛼 < 180° (iii) 180° < 𝛼 < 270° (iv) 270° < 𝛼 < 360° 2024
5. Draw the graphs of sin x, sin 2x, 2 sin x and sin (x/2) on the same graph using same
coordinate axes and interpret the same.
SECTION B
6. Use focal property of ellipse/hyperbola to construct ellipse/hyperbola .
7. Write geometrical significance of X coordinate, Y coordinate, and Z coordinate in
space. Using the above, find the distance of the point in space from X-axis, Y-axis, Z-
axis & the origin. Explain the above using neat diagrams.
SECTION C
8. Find median from the point of intersection of cumulative frequency curves (less than
and more than cumulative frequency curves).
9. Identify the purchasing power using the concept of cost of living index
number/weighted aggregate price index number
Instruction: Students are to prepare a detailed project including an abstract
and theoretical discussion of the topics allotted. The project should be kept
simple, but neat and elegant.

of a spring, restoring forces and force constant, energy in S.H.M.

onwards vibrations of a stretched sting, modes of vibration of strings and air
columns.

Students are required to prepare a project based on both these questions:
1. Explain the IUPAC rules for nomenclature of organic compounds and discuss in detail
the IUPAC nomenclature of acyclic, alicyclic and aromatic compounds containing 21st
Chemistry functional groups with suitable examples. Oct.
2. Discuss in detail the concept and applications of inductive effect, mesomeric effect and 2024
hyperconjugation effect in organic chemistry with suitable examples.

Candidates will be expected to have completed two projects of the following topics:
1. Assume you are starting a partnership firm with your friend/friends. Develop a business
plan covering the following aspects:
- Formation of this partnership firm-rules and steps that would be followed including the
partnership deed. 19th
Commerce - Choice of types of partners involved and your justification for the same. June
2. Select one consumer Cooperative and one housing Cooperative. For each of the 2024
Cooperatives:-
- State the objectives.
- The organisational structure.
- Details of surplus distribution and the form of government support.
General instructions:
1. Both the sides of the paper can be used for the project.
2. At least 5 sheets could be used for each project.
3. Assignment front sheet to be filled with the topics and name of the student, class, roll
no., admission number and date of submission.

Question: 1
Preparation of Journal, Ledger, Trial balance and Financial Statements of a trading
organization on the basis of a case study.
• Develop a case study of a sole trader starting business with a certain amount of capital.
• He could have got the amount from his past savings or by borrowing from a bank by
mortgaging his personal assets or any other source.
• Write in detail, his transactions during the year- his purchase – cash and credit, sales-cash
and credit, expenses, purchase of fixed assets and depreciation, accrued income, drawing
bills of exchange, accepting bills payable, etc.
• From this case study developed (which should have at least 20 transactions), pass the
journal entries, post them into the ledger, prepare a Trial Balance and the Trading and
Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
• The Various Expenses for comparison purposes, could be depicted on the form of bar
diagrams and pie charts. 16th

Preparation of the accounts of a Not –for- profit-Organisation on the basis of a case study.
4. Develop a case study of an NPO by beginning with the primary motive of establishing it,
that is, why have you decided to open a club or a library or a hospital, etc.
5. Write in detail about the sources of capital fund, subscriptions, donations (ordinary and
special) other receipts and payments of your NPO as well as outstanding expenses,
subscription due but not received in advance, purchase of fixed assets and depreciation
charged on them, legacy received, etc.
6. From this case study developed (which should have at least 15 transactions), pass the
journal entries, post them into the ledger, prepare a trial balance and thereafter prepare the
NPO’s Cash Book, Receipts and payment Account, its Income and Expenditure Account
and its Balance Sheet.
The various expenses, for comparison purposes, could be depicted in the form of bar
diagram and pie charts.
Students should complete two Projects from the following topics.
1. Prepare a report on the various poverty alleviation and employment generation
programmes started in India with special focus on MGNREGA.
2. Make a study of two cooperative institutions with a view to compare the organizational
and financial structure of the organizations, production capacity and output, marketing
strategies, sales, market share etc.
3. Prepare a report on the forest cover in India highlighting the following aspects.
(a) Five states /union territories having higher and lower forest cover and compare the 24th
Economics extent of forest coverage. (b) Causes for degrees in forest cover in the country. June
(c)Measures adopted by the central or state government to increase the forest cover. 2024

5. Mark allocation for each project is 10 marks.
