MULTI-SECTORAL COVENANT FOR THE REDUCTION

OF DENGUE CASES IN SAN JOAQUIN, ILOILO

We, government officials, employees, health workers, volunteers,

teachers, students, pupils, private sector leaders, non-governmental
and people’s organizations’ representatives, religious organizations’
leaders, private individuals and concerned citizens:

“COGNIZANT, that by binding and working together as a

community and united force, we shall be able to promote our
general welfare and pursue our just common cause and
interests;”

“CONSCIOUS, that the proliferation of dengue disease is

detrimental to the health and well-being of the people of this
town and if left unabated will cause economic losses and may
claim lives of the populace;” and

“CONVINCED, that one of the effective means of combating

dengue is through community effort by way of ensuring
participation of all stakeholders in the activities related to the
elimination of its vector mosquitoes through regular clean-up
and clearing activities;”

In order to protect our collective rights to a healthy environment and pursue our
common good, do knit firm and steadfast to declare the following avowals:

WE STAND to promote the idea that a good community is disease-free;

WE STAND to declare our uncompromised goal of reducing dengue incidence in

San Joaquin;

WE STAND to pursue our objective of eliminating dengue vectors through any

means available to us;

In so doing, we hereby affirm to join the war against dengue through pooling
our resources, efforts and time together and band ourselves as a community to
perform activities towards its reduction and/or of its vector mosquitoes.

We further affirm to join the regular “4 o’clock Habit Kontra Dengue” in our
respective barangays, schools, communities and workplaces everyday by way of
conducting regular clean-up and clearing activities in these areas.

These we take as binding upon ourselves and to all the

residents/students/pupils/members of the barangays/schools/organizations
where we belong.

In witness and in conformity hereof, we affix our signatures in this instrument

with our own will and volition this 10th day of June 2022 at Barangay Lawigan,
San Joaquin, Iloilo.
