진석진 : 네, 안녕하세요. 진석진입니다.

Seokjin Jin : Hello, this is Seokjin Jin.

최경은 : 네, 석진 씨? (네) 오늘 우리 뭐에 대해서 이야기 할까요?

Kyeong-eun Choi : Seokjin? (Yes) What are we going to talk about today?

진석진 : 네. 오늘은 노약자석에 대해서 한번 얘기해 봐요.

Seokjin Jin : Yea. Today we are going to try talking about seating for the disabled.

최경은 : 아... 노약자석.

Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah… Seating for the disabled.

진석진 : 네. 경은 씨. (네) 오늘 출근 할 때 뭐 타고 오셨어요?

Seokjin Jin : Yea. Kyeong-eun. (Yea) What did you take, when you came to work today?

최경은 : 저는 출근할 때 전철도 타고 버스도 타요.

Kyeong-eun Choi : When I go to work, I take the subway and I take the bus.

진석진 : 네. 버스 안에 보면 (네) 왠지 좌석 색깔이 다르잖아요.

Seokjin Jin : Yea. For some reason when you look inside of busses (Yea)for some reason the seats are different
colors.

최경은 : 네. 그렇죠.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea. They are.

진석진 : 버스 안에는 노약자를 위한 자리가 따로 있어요.

Seokjin Jin : Inside busses there are separate seats for disabled people.

최경은 : 네, 맞아요. 그러면 노약자가 뭔데요?

Kyeong-eun Choi : Yes that’s true. Then what are “disabled people”?

진석진 : 노약자. 모르세요, 진짜?

Seokjin Jin : Disabled people. You really don’t know?

최경은 : 네. 모르겠는데요. (아... 정말...) 석진 씨가 설명해 주세요.

Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, I don’t know. (Ah… Really…) Seokjin please explain.

진석진 : 네, 알겠습니다. 노약자. 이게 한자로 이루어진 말인데, (네) 제가 아주 쉽게 풀어드릴게요. (네) “노”자는 나이가 들었다는
뜻을 나타냅니다. (아...) 그리고 “약”자는 몸이 약하다는 뜻을 나타내요. (아...) “자”는 놈(놈?) 원래 “놈 자” 자인데 (네) 사람을 나
타내죠.
Seokjin Jin : Yea, ok. Disabled people. This is a word that comes from Hanja, (Yea) I will break it down easily.
(Yea) The block “노” has the meaning of old. (Ah…) And the block“약” has the meaning of weak in body. (Ah…)
The block“자”, person[놈] (person?[놈?]) Originally “놈 자” was a block. It means person.

최경은 : 아... 그러면 나이 들고 (네) 약한 사람을 말하는 건가요?

Kyeong-eun Choi : So it’s a word that means old (Yes) and weak people?

진석진 : 그렇죠. (그러면) 나이가 들었거나 몸이 약한 사람.

Seokjin Jin : That’s right. (Then) Old or weak people.

최경은 : 임산부들은요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : How about pregnant people?

진석진 : 임산부도 뱃속에 아기가 있으니까 몸이 무겁잖아요.

Seokjin Jin : Pregnant people have a baby inside them, so their bodies are heavy!

최경은 : 아... 뱃속에 아기가 있는 임신한 사람을 ‘임산부’라고 말하죠? (그렇죠) 임산부도 ‘노약자’에 들어가네요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah… You call people with a baby inside of them “pregnant people”? (That’s right) Pregnant
people also go into the disabled people’s spot?

진석진 : 맞아요, 맞아요. (아...) 그런 노약자들이 앉는 자리를 ‘노약자석’이라고 합니다.

Seokjin Jin : Right, right. (Ah…) So the chairs where disabled people sit are called the disabled persons’ seats.

최경은 : 아... 근데 석진 씨, (네) 버스에만 있는 게 아니라 전철에도 있잖아요.

Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah… Then Seokjin, (Yea) it isn’t something that is only on busses, they are on the subway
too.

진석진 : 전철에도 있죠.

Seokjin Jin : They’re on the subway too.

최경은 : 그렇죠. 전철이랑 버스에 ‘노약자석’이 있죠?

Kyeong-eun Choi : That’s right. ‘Disabled persons’ seats’ are on the subway and the bus, aren’t they?

진석진 : 네. 대한민국 사람들 중에 지하철을 타 본 사람은 다 아실 거예요.

Seokjin Jin : Yes. Out of all the people of the Republic of South Korea, all the ones who have taken the subway
will know.

최경은 : 네, 맞아요. 석진 씨는 노약자석에 자주 앉아 봤어요?

Kyeong-eun Choi : Yes, that’s right. Seokjin do you often sit in the disabled persons’ seating?

진석진 : 네, 버스는 자주 앉아 봤는데 지하철에서는 못 앉겠더라고요.

Seokjin Jin : Yes, I have often sit on the bus, but I have found that you can’t sit on the subway.

최경은 : 왜요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : Why?
진석진 : 아... 너무 눈치가 보여요.
Seokjin Jin : Ah… It’s too awkward.

최경은 : 눈치가 보여요? (네) 아... 그래요?

Kyeong-eun Choi : It’s awkward? (Yes) Ah… Is that so?

진석진 : 사람들이 많이 쳐다봐서 (아...) 부끄러울 것 같아요. 저는 아직 안 앉아 봐서 모르겠는데...

Seokjin Jin : People stare a lot so I think it would be kind of embarrassing. But I haven’t done it so I still don’t
know yet.

최경은 : 근데 진짜 신기한 게 (네) 전철에 아무리 사람이 많아도 (네) 노약자석은 항상 비어 있잖아요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : But it’s really interesting (Yea) that in the subway, not matter how people there are (Yes)
the disabled people’s seats are always empty.

진석진 : 음... 비어 있거나 아니면 정말 노약자 분들이 앉아 있죠.

Seokjin Jin : Um… Empty or there is really disabled people sitting there.

최경은 : 주로 할머니, (그렇죠) 할아버지들이 앉아 계시죠? (네) 사실 저도 예전에 강남으로 출근을 한 적이 있었는데요. (네) 보통 2
호선을 타면 강남으로 가잖아요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Mainly grandmas, (That’s right) grandpas sit there right? (Yes) Actually, a long time ago, I
also used to commute to Gangnam for work. (Yea) Usually if you take line 2, you can go to Gangnam.

진석진 : 아……. 그 ‘지옥철’이라고 불리는 2 호선이군요.

Seokjin Jin : Ah. That it’s that ‘hell subway’ on line 2.

최경은 : 그렇죠. 왜 ‘지옥철’이라고 하죠?

Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea it is. Why do they call it the ‘hell subway’?

진석진 : 사람이 너무 많죠. 출근 시간 때는.

Seokjin Jin : Because there are so many people during rush hour.

최경은 : 네. 사람이 너무 많은 지하철. (네) ‘지옥 같은 지하철’이라고 해서 (네, 너무 불편해요) 네, ‘지옥철’이라고 해요. (네) 출근
시간에는 정말 너무 사람이 많아서 제 발이 좀 떠 있는 듯 한 기분이 들 때도 있어요. Kyeong-eun Choi :Yea. There are too
many people on the subway. (Yea) Because people say it is ‘a hell like subway’ (Yea, it’s so uncomfortable)
yea, people call it the ‘hell subway’. (Yea) During rush hour there are so many people that I get the sensation
that my legs are floating.

진석진 : 발이 떠 있어요?
Seokjin Jin : your legs are floating?

최경은 : 네. 사람이 너무 많아서 (네) 서 있는 채로 잘 수도 있어요.

Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea. Because there are so many people (Yea) you can sleep while standing to.

진석진 : 아... 너무 이제 (네) 사람들이 너무 많으니까.

Seokjin Jin : Ah… Now there are too (Yea), there are too many people.
최경은 : 네. 꽉 차 있기 때문에 (네) 그런 지옥철에서도 노약자석에는 젊은 사람들은 안 앉죠? Kyeong-eun Choi :Yea, because
it is jam packed (Yea) in the hell subway also, young people don’t sit in the disabled person’s seating?

진석진 : 네. 앉으면 안 돼요.

Seokjin Jin : Yes. They are not allowed to sit.

최경은 : 앉으면 어떻게 돼요?

Kyeong-eun Choi : What happens if they sit?

진석진 : 혼나요.
Seokjin Jin : They get scolded.

최경은 : 혼나요? (네) 그러면 석진 씨는 안 혼나면 노약자석에 앉을 거예요?

Kyeong-eun Choi : Scolded? (Yea) Then Seokjin, will you sit in the disabled people’s seating if you don’t get
scolded?

진석진 : 음... 사람들이 없으면 앉을 수도 있겠죠. 저는 착한 사람이니까, 네, 사람들이 없어도 노약자석은 안 앉아요.
Seokjin Jin : Um… If there is no one there you can sit too I guess. Because I’m a nice guy, yea, even if there is
no one there I won’t sit.

최경은 : 아, 그래요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah, is that so?

진석진 : 하지만 가끔 보면, (네) 어린 애들이 앉는 경우도 있어요.

Seokjin Jin : But sometimes when you look, (Yea) there are situations where children sit there too.

최경은 : 아... 맞아요, 맞아요.

Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah… Right, right.

진석진 : 근데 그럴 경우는 (네) 어머니가 (네) 같이 데리고 앉는 경우니까.

Seokjin Jin : But in that kind of situation (Yea) the mother (Yea), brings them and sits with them.

최경은 : 아, 정말 어린 아기들. (네, 네. 맞아요) 그렇죠?

Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah, real babies. (Yea, yea. Right.) Isn’t that so?

진석진 : 네. 그럴 때는 봐 줘야 되요.
Seokjin Jin : Yea. At times like that you should see them and give you seat.

최경은 : 근데 저는 사실 정말 몸이 아플 때 (네) 노약자석에 앉고 싶은데, 사실 거기 노약자석에 앉아 있으면 제가 마음이 불편해요.

사람들이 제가 아픈지 알 수가 없잖아요. (맞아요, 맞아요) 그래서 아무리 아파도 꾹 참고 노약자석에는 안 앉아요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : But when my body honestly hurts a lot (Yea) I want to sit in the disable person’s seating,
but honestly if I sit there I feel really uncomfortable. Other people wont know I’m in pain. (That’s right, that’s
right) So no matter how much it hurts, I restrain myself and don’t sit there.

진석진 : 경은 씨. (네?) 다음에 아플 때 (네) 다른 사람이 봐도 아프다라고 알 수 있을 만큼 (네) 어디 다리가 부러지던가 (아... 네...)
그렇게 크게 다치세요.
Seokjin Jin : Kyeong-eun. (Yes?) Next time when you are sick (Yea) you have to be sick enough that other
people can see it (Yea) and your leg should be broken somewhere. (Ah... yea) it should be that big of an
injury.

최경은 : 그런 일은 없는 게 좋겠죠?
Kyeong-eun Choi : Then it is better if you don’t have a problem right?

진석진 : 그럼요.
Seokjin Jin : Yea you’re right.

최경은 : 저 다치라고 하는 거 아니죠?

Kyeong-eun Choi : I can’t just say I’m sick?

진석진 : 아니요, 아니요, 아니에요.

Seokjin Jin : no, no, not like that.

최경은 : 아, 아니에요? (네, 네) 근데 저도 사실은 석진 씨처럼 지하철에서는 절대 노약자석에 안 앉는데 (네) 버스에서는 사실 좀 사
람들이 앉잖아요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah, not like that? (Yea, yea) But like you, I actually never sit in the disabled persons’
seating on the subway. (Yea) But actually on the bus some people sit there.

진석진 : 그럼요. 좀 앉죠.

Seokjin Jin : Yea I know. Some sit there.

최경은 : 네, 네. 그런데 제가 예전에 (네) 버스를 탔다가 너무 피곤해서 노약자석에 앉았었어요. (음...) 근데 제가 일부러 잔 건 아닌
데 (네) 잠이 들어 버린 거예요. (네, 네) 그리고 나서 눈을 떴는데 제 앞에 할머니가 (아...) 딱 서 있으신 거죠. (아... 맙소사)
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, yea. But along time ago I (Yea) I was so tired so I got on the bus and I sat in the
disabled person’s seating. (Oh…) And it wasn’t on purpose (Yea) but I fell asleep. (Yea, yea) And when I
opened my eyes, there was an old lady (Ah…) standing right in front of me. (Ah… Oh god)

최경은 : 그래서 눈을 떴는데, 너무... 창피했어요, 사실은. 일부러 잔 게 아닌데도 (네) 왠지 모르게 (네) 빨리 비켜 드렸어야 됐는데
못 비켜 드렸으니까 (네. 맞아요, 맞아요) 창피해서 벌떡 일어났는데 버스가 덜컹 흔들리는 거예요. 그래서 저도 모르게 벌떡 일어났
다가 (다시) 다시 딱 앉아 버렸어요. 그래서 제 얼굴이 정말 빨개져서 (네) 더 창피한 거죠. 그래서 벌떡 일어나서 도망갔던 기억이 있
어요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : So when I opened my eyes, I was so… embarrassed, honestly. I didn’t sleep on purpose
(Yea) I didn't know why, but I felt like I should have quickly given her my seat. But I couldn't give her my
seat. (Yea. Right, right.) I was embarrassed so I quickly jumped out of my seat but then the bus shook really
hard. So I unknowingly got right up (again) and again sat right back down. So my face turned really red, (Yea)
and I got more embarrassed. So I got up and just remember running away.

i didn't know why, but i felt like i should have quickly given her my seat.

진석진 : 아, 참... 버스에 탔을 때 (네) 정말 노약자 분들이 눈에 보이자마자 바로 양보할 때 (네) 그게 제일 좋은 거예요. (맞아요) 하
지만 저 같은 경우에는 조금만 더 앉아 있다가 양보해 드려야지 (아...) 그런 생각을 하다가...
Seokjin Jin : Ah, then… When riding the bus (Yea) it would be best if as soon as you see a disabled person you
give up your seat. (Yea) (Right) But I think as in my situation you can sit a bit more little and then give up
your seat… (Ah…)
최경은 : 석진 씨 때문에 그래요. (맞아요) 사람들이, 일부러 자는 척을 하는 사람도 있기 때문에 혼나는 거예요. (네, 맞아요. 그러면
혼나요) 일부러 자는 척을 하지 않고 정말 잠들어도 혼나기 때문에. (네) 그러지 마세요, 석진 씨.
Kyeong-eun Choi : It is because of you Seokjin. (Yea) Because people purposely pretend to sleep they get
scolded. (Yea, your right. Then they get scolded) People who don’t purposely pretend to sleep and actually
fall asleep get scolded to. (Yea) So don’t do that Seokjin.

진석진 : 맞아요, 맞아요. 혹시 노약자석이나 (네) 아니면 그냥 일반석에 앉아 있더라도 (네) 노약자 분들이 보이면 바로 자리를 양보
해 주는 게 좋습니다.
Seokjin Jin : your right, your right. As you know whether your in the disabled persons’ seating (Yea) or even if
your in the regular seating,(Yea) if you see a disabled person, it is best to give them your seat right away.

최경은 : 네, 맞아요. 한국에서는 (네) 노약자석이 아니어도 (네) 그냥 앉아 있다가 할머니, 할아버지가 앞에 오시면 자리를 비켜 주는

Hyunwoo Sun: Yea, nice to meet you everyone. Now is our second Iyagi time (yea) isn’t it?

선현우 : 오늘은 서점에 대해서 이야기를 해 볼 거예요.

Hyunwoo Sun: Today we are going to try talking about book stores.

최경은 : 서점이요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : Book stores?

선현우 : 네, 서점.
Hyunwoo Sun: Yea, book stores.

최경은 : 서점.네, 책을 파는 곳이죠?

Kyeong-eun Choi : Book stores. Yea, it is the book selling place right?

최경은 : 네, 맞아요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, right.

선현우 : 네. 서점에서는 책을 파는데 사실 책이 아닌 (네) 다른 물건들도 많이 팔잖아요?

Hyunwoo Sun: Yea. At book stores they books, but in reality instead of books (Yea) they sell a lot of other things to don’t
they?

최경은 : 네, 맞아요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, right.

선현우 : 경은 씨 서점에 자주 가세요?

Hyunwoo Sun: Do you go to the book store often?

최경은 : 아니요. 자주 못 가요.

Kyeong-eun Choi : No. I can’t go often.

선현우 : 자주 못가요? 아니면 자주 안 가요?

Hyunwoo Sun: You can’t go often? Or you don’t go often?
최경은 : 자주 못가요. 가고 싶은데 못 가요. (아, 그래요?) 시간이 없어요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : I can’t go often. I want to go but I can’t. (Ah, is that so?) I don’t have time.

선현우 : 시간이 없어요?

Hyunwoo Sun: You don’t have time?

최경은 : 네. (음~) 너무 바빠요.

Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea. (um~) I’m to busy.

선현우 : 그래요?
Hyunwoo Sun: Is that so?

최경은 : 현우 씨는요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : And you?

선현우 : 저는 서점에 자주 가요.

Hyunwoo Sun: I go to the book store often.

최경은 : 아, 얼마나 자주 가요?

Kyeong-eun Choi : ah~ how often?

선현우 : 음... 일주일에 두 번?

Hyunwoo Sun: Um… twice a week?

최경은 : 와, 진짜요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : Wow, really?

선현우 : 네. 일주일에 두 번 가고, 그리고 그냥 실제 서점 말고 (네) 인터넷 서점도 자주 가는 것 같아요. (아~) 그런데 인터넷 서점에서
는 책을 안 사요.
Hyunwoo Sun: Yea. I go twice a week, but I don’t just to the real book store (Yea) I think I often go to the internet book store
to. (Ah~) But I don’t buy books at the internet book store.

최경은 : 왜요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : Why?

선현우 : 그냥 책은 음... 직접 손으로 (네) 만져 보고 (네) 직접 그 자리에서 읽어 보고 (아~) 사는 편이어서 (아~) 예.

Hyunwoo Sun: Just um, books… I want to touch them (Yea) with my hands and (Yea) then read them in a chair, (Ah~) then I
buy them (Ah~) yea.

최경은 : 근데 저도 서점에 가는 거 좋지만, (네) 인터넷 서점이 훨씬 싸요. (그래요?) 한국에서는요.

Kyeong-eun Choi : I also like going the book store but, (Yea) but the internet book stores are way cheaper. (Oh really?) In
Korea at least.

선현우 : 맞아요. 그건 알고 있어요. 알고 있는데 (네) 음... 그냥 서점에서 직접 책을 보고 (네) 조금 읽어 보고 (네) 사고 싶어서 (아~)
서점에서 책을 사요. (네) 그런데 제가 젤 좋아하는 서점은 종각에 있는 영풍문고인데,
Hyunwoo Sun: You’re right. I know that. I know that but (Yea) um… I just like to see the books in person (Yea) read them a
bit, (Yea) then I want to buy them, (Ah~) so I buy books at the book store. (Yea) So my favorite book store is Young Poong
Library in Jong-gak.

최경은 : 아~ 영풍문고.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah~ Young Poong Library.

선현우 : 네, 아세요?
Hyunwoo Sun: Yea, do you know it?

최경은 : 유명하죠.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Of course, It’s famous.

선현우 : 네. 영풍문고 정말 좋아요. (아~) 좋은데 (네) 얼마 전에 큰 공사를 했어요.

Hyunwoo Sun: Yea. Young Poong Library is really good. (Ah~) It is good but (Yea) a while ago it underwent a big upgrade.

최경은 : 아, 그래요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : ah, is that so?

선현우 : 네, 그래서 영풍문고가 지하 1 층, 지하 2 층에 있는데 (아~) 지하 2 층은 전부 (네) 책이 아니라 (네) 문구 (아, 정말요?) 그러니
까 공책, (아~) 연필, 펜 또는 카메라, 스피커, 뭐, 컴퓨터...
Hyunwoo Sun: Yea. So Young Poong Library now has both a first underground level and a second underground level. (Ah~)
The second underground level (Yea) isn’t completely books (Yea) it’s stationary (Ah, really?) So they have notebooks (Ah~)
pencils, pens, and cameras, speakers, what else? Computers…

최경은 : 서점 맞아요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : It’s a book store right?

선현우 : 네. 지하 1 층만 서점이에요. (아~) 그런데 제 생각에는 (네) 지하 2 층에 그렇게 문구, (네) 전자 제품 이런 것들이 정말 많아
서, 더 돈을 많이 벌고 있는 것 같아요.
Hyunwoo Sun: Yea. Only the first underground level is a book store. (Ah~) But I think (Yea) the second underground level is
like stationary, (Yea) electronics, there is lots of stuff like this, I think they do it to earn more money.

최경은 : 아, 그렇군요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah, that’s why.

선현우 : 그렇지 않아요?

Hyunwoo Sun: That is why, isn’t it?

최경은 : 그런 것 같아요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : It seems like that.

선현우 : 네. 사람들은 책도 보고 싶지만, (네) 서점에 갈 때는 그냥, 그냥 무언가를 보고 싶어서 가잖아요?

Hyunwoo Sun: Yea. People want to see books to but, (Yea) when they go to the book store they just, they just go because
they want to look at something don’t they?
최경은 : 네, 그렇죠.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, they do.

선현우 : 그리고 돈을 쓰고 싶어서 가잖아요?

Hyunwoo Sun: And they go because they want to spend money to don’t they?

최경은 : 그래요?
Kyeong-eun Choi : Is that so?

선현우 : 음... 돈을 쓰고 싶어서 가는 거 아닌가요?

Hyunwoo Sun: Um… There not going because they want to spend money?

최경은 : 아니죠. 그게 아니라 그냥 (뭔가 가지고 싶어서) 그냥 갔는데 그런 너무 예쁜 것들이 많아서 유혹에 빠져서 사는 거에요. 돈을
쓰는 거죠. (아... 그럴 수도) 저는 그래요. (있어요?)
Kyeong-eun Choi : Nope. It’s not that it’s just, (Because they want to have something) they just go but because there is so
much pretty stuff, they give in to the temptation and buy something. So they are spending money. (Ah… It could be that.)
Well, I’m like that.

선현우 : 저도 물론 돈을 쓰고 싶지는 않아요. (네) 그런데 돈을 쓰면 내 것으로 (네) 물건을 가져올 수 있잖아요? (아~ 예.) 그래서 살
수 있잖아요. (네, 맞아요.) 그런 느낌 때문에 가고, (음~) 사실 보고 다 사지는 않아요.
Hyunwoo Sun: Of course I don’t want to spend money either. (Yea) But when I spend money, stuff becomes mine (Yea) and
I can take it with me right? (Ah~ Yea.) So I can but it. (Yea, you’re right.) So because of that urge, I go (Oh~) and actually
look, but I don’t but buy everything.

최경은 : 다 사면 큰일나죠.
Kyeong-eun Choi : It would be a big problem if you bought everything.

선현우 : 맞아요. 돈이 없겠죠?

Hyunwoo Sun: You’re right. I wouldn’t have money.

최경은 : 네, 큰일나요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, it would be a big problem.

선현우 : 네, 그래서 서점에 가서 책도 보고, 문구도 보고, 컴퓨터도 보고, (아~) 새로 나온카메라도 보고. 그렇게 자주 해요.
Hyunwoo Sun: Yea, so at the book store I look at books, stationary, computers (Ah~) and the newly released cameras. I do
that often.

최경은 : 아~ 저도 종로에 있는 반디앤루니스라는 서점을 좋아하는데 (음~) 그서점을 좋아하는이유가 우리나라에서 처음으로 (네) 서
점에 의자를 놨어요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Ah~ I also like the Bandi and Lunis book store. (Oh~) But the reason I like that book store (Yea) is
because it was the first bookstore in our country to come out with chairs.

선현우 : 맞아요. 맞아요,

Hyunwoo Sun: Right. Right.

최경은 : 네, 옛날에는 항상 사람들이 서서 (네) 책을 볼 수 밖에 없었거든요. (네) 근데 반디앤루니스에서는 의자에 앉아서 책을 보다가
사면 되니까 (음) 그 점이 너무 좋아서, 그 뒤부터 반디앤루니스만 가요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, along time ago, people always stood (Yea) so they could only look at books. (Yea) But at Bandi and
Lunis, you could sit in a chair, look at the book, then buy it. (Oh) I really like that, so from then on I only went to Bandi and
Lunis.

선현우 : 네, 굉장히 편해요.

Hyunwoo Sun: Yea it’s really convenient.

최경은 : 네, 맞아요.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, right.

선현우 : 그런데 아셨어요? 그런... 다른 서점에도 (네) 의자가 이제 있어요.

Hyunwoo Sun: But did you know this? That…Now there is also chairs (Yea) at other book stores.

최경은 : 네, 이제 생겼죠.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, now they have them.

선현우 : 네, 네. 그래서 저도 영풍문고에 가서, 의자에 앉아서 (네) 책을 볼 때도 있고, (네) 아니면 그냥, 예 , 서서 볼 때도 있는데 저는
그 문구를 많이 볼 수 있어서 (아) 좋아요. 그래서 서점에 자주 가요. (아...) 네.
Hyunwoo Sun: Yea, yea. So when I got to Young Poong Library I can sit on chairs to (Yea) when I read. (Yea) Or I can just,
look at them while I stand. But I like it because I can look at their stationary and stuff. (Ah.) Yea.

최경은 : 저는 일부러 문구 있는 데는 잘 안가요. (아~) 돈을 쓰게 되니까.

Kyeong-eun Choi : I purposely don’t go to places with a lot of stationary. (Ah~) Because I will spend money.

선현우 : 네~ 그것도 이해가 됩니다.

Hyunwoo Sun: Yea~ I can understand that.

최경은 : 네.
Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea.

선현우 : 네. 여러분은 서점에 자주 가세요? 그리고 집 근처에 서점이, 큰 서점들이 많이 있나요?

Hyunwoo Sun: Yea. Everyone, do you often go to book stores? And is there a lot of book stores, big book stores, in your
neighborhood?

최경은 : 네, 그리고 책을 많이 읽으시나요?

Kyeong-eun Choi : Yea, and do you ready a lot of books?

선현우 : 당연하죠.
Hyunwoo Sun: Of course.
