Special tools and workshop equipment required
t Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-

t Adapter for filling oil -VAS 6262 A-

t Extension -VAS 6262/7-

The gearbox is filled for life. Therefore, there is no need to check the oil level of this
gearbox.
This explains why there is no oil level check.

If the gearbox has started leaking, check where the oil is coming from.

– Position used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- under gearbox.

– Then drain remaining oil.

– Repair leak.

– Then install the drain plug again.

The new oil is poured in through the breather hole.

If the gearbox is installed, the air filter and/or battery must be removed in order to fill the gearbox
with oil, depending on the model and engine.

Removing and installing air filter housing → Rep. gr.24.

– Remove battery and -battery tray- → Rep. gr.27.

– Pull cap off breather hole.

– Fit oil filling adapter -VAS 6262 A- with adapter -VAS 6262/4- on breather hole.

t Only the gear oil for the 7-speed dual clutch gearbox 0AM, which is available through the
replacement parts system, may be used → Electronic Parts Catalogue (ETKA).
t Shake oil bottles before filling.
t Breather pipe of adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262 A- may need to be shortened.

– In order to ensure that the breather pipe of the adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262 A- does not
contact the bottom of some oil bottles, the pipe must be shortened to the length -a-.
Dimension -a- = 182 mm

Note

The dimension -a- is measured from the shaft (green area in the magnifying glass) of the adapter
for oil filling -VAS 6262 A-.

– Mark dimension -a- on the breather pipe and shorten pipe with pipe cutter -VAS 6056/2-.

– Bolt extension -VAS 6262/7- onto bottle. Then screw on, adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262 A-.

– Add oil.

Capacities after draining oil for general repair work 1.7 l
Capacity after draining and extracting oil for removal and installation of 1.9 l
mechatronic unit

The oil is available as a replacement part; Part no. → Electronic Parts Catalogue (ETKA).

After filling, remove oil filling adapter -VAS 6262 A-. Clean area around breather hole with a cloth
and fit the breather cap.
