1. Overview

1.1 Contents

This chapter indicates for whom this information is intended. It contains a flow chart
with the steps for verifying shipment, installation and commissioning of the system.

1.2 Who is this manual intended for?

The manual is intended for maintenance and commissioning technicians as well as


equipment users.

The reader of this manual must possess basic knowledge of electricity, electrical
components and electronics as well as being familiar with the symbols used in
electrical diagrams.

All personnel who come into contact with the equipment must be qualified and must
strictly comply with the safety standards for handling medium voltage equipment in
order to safeguard both their own physical integrity and that of the equipment.

This manual must be read before starting to work with the equipment.

The units used throughout the manual are based on IS (International System of
Measurements) unless other measurement units are specifically indicated.

1.3 Ingeteam Power Technology product coding

The plaque located on a visible part of the equipment should not only state the main
features of the equipment, such as power, voltage, outgoing current, etc., but should
also show the equipment reference number, serial number and manufacturer.

When consulting the supplier with regard to any issue, please indicate information
items 1 to 4.

1.4 Additional documentation and manuals available

The Frequency Converter Module described in this manual forms part of a larger
system and its operation is related to other devices and systems. Primarily, the User
Manual deals only with the converter itself. However, all information that the final
client considers to be relevant could eventually be included in the "Additional
Documents" section.
