Engineering plays in shaping our daily lives. This fascination evolved into a passion during my
undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at Niger Delta University, Bayelsa State. My
commitment to advancing my knowledge and contributing to innovative engineering solutions
has inspired me to pursue a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
One of the most rewarding projects I worked on was working within several departments to co-
supervise the construction of a 1km x 10.3m, and a 5km x 7.3m flexible pavement/ roadway, its
excavation, sand-filling, compaction and application of asphalt and bitumen to the roadway
according to plan. This project made me gain knowledge of road, drainage, and grading design
and construction practices; site and road construction knowledge and inspection experience a
plus.
In conclusion, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering will not only bolster my technical
competencies but also foster my ability to address pressing global challenges. I am excited
about the opportunity to learn from distinguished faculty, engage with like-minded peers, and
contribute to the advancement of the civil engineering profession.
