INTRODUCTION

Organizational uses large amounts of data these data can be related to the

people who work for the organization it is products or services, the

customer or any other agent of the operation of the organization. The data

need to organized in a way that support decision making the most common

data type are text and numbers but data can also include images,

photographs, sound, video and other types, data are organized in a data

base.

Data base management makes it possible to organize and analyze these

data learn why database management is important to support business

operation.

DATA ARE LOGICALLY ORGANIZED IN TO:

LIBRARY EXAMPLE

Lets consider and examples of how database are used, think of a public

library.

A library contains books, magazine, IDS, DVD and other materials need to

be cataloged so are known what is available in the library. For each item

the cataloged world describe thing like the type of items the title the

authors the publisher and relevant details.

Once we have the catalog, we also need to have a way for users to clerk

out the aerials. Users need to be able to register get a library card and use

this card check out the material they want to take home, so the library

needs a database users.
