HOLISTIC NARRATIVE / LINEAR STORY LINE

The Messiah’s sacrificial death & resurrection at his first coming confirmed the coming
restoration, reversal of the curse, and the promises of God made to the patriarchs.
(Acts 3:18-21; cf. Luke 1:32-33; Matt. 19:28; Acts 17:31; Rom. 15:8; Rev. 21:4-7; Ps. 110)
The Messiah’s atoning death is: a) propitiation in light of the coming day of wrath; b)
justification in light of the coming day of judgment; and c) redemption in light of the
coming day of recompense.
Today the Messiah intercedes as a high priest and has given the holy spirit as a helper so

that God’s followers can endure, overcome, glorify God, and testify of the One who is

THE HISTORICITY OF BIBLICAL PROTOLOGY

• The beginning (protology) is the foundation for the end (eschatology)!
• Creation will be restored to its original historical glory (cf. Matt. 19:28; Acts 3:21; Rom. 8:21).

• Sin and death entered creation through Adam (cf. Rom. 5:12-19; I Cor. 15:21-22) and will be judged
and eradicated at a historical point in the future through Jesus Christ (Acts 17:31; 2 Cor. 5:1-10).

• Many today receive Genesis theologically or doctrinally, but when push comes to shove they
reject it existentially (i.e. that it doesn’t relate to physical existence today, that it’s an ancient
myth). Evolutionism seeks to invalidate the historical account of Genesis.
• But . . . the biblical writers clearly interpreted Genesis plainly and literally (cf. Exodus 20:11;
31:17; Psalm 8:3-8; Matthew 19:4; I Timothy 2:13-14)
• The Scriptures as a whole speak of a literal creation and an apocalyptic restoration of
creation on the day of the Lord by the king of the Jews, Jesus the Messiah.

PHYSICAL RESTORATION VS. GREEK PHILOSOPHY

Christians have two primary outlooks regarding eternity

FUTURE HOPE WAS ANCHORED TO THE RETURN OF JESUS

• 1 Thessalonians 2:19–20 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of
our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? (20) For ye are our glory and joy.

there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:

VISION – KINGDOM OF GOD

Proverbs 29:18 says “where there is no vision, the people perish”

• Another way to translate this verse is “where there is no revelation or
prophetic vision, the people let loose, or cut loose, or cast-off restraint.”
• A VISION of the day of the Lord (both the coming judgment and the coming
restoration and glory) is spiritually healthy and powerful!
• It constrains our hearts to keep faith unto eternal life. To start the race and
then finish it! To persevere to the end!

“As much as I have been able to learn from the prophetic word and from the Spirit of the Lord. . . [the
following] will take place at the time of the return of Christ to His kingdom, with which the
commitment of the Father is bound up.
• 1. The restoration of the earth from its 6000-year subordination to its original, paradisaical
freedom, beauty and incorruptibility.
• 2. The restoration of the kingdom and the people of Israel under the reign of their King, the son
of David, Jesus Christ, Whom they then will approach with jubilation, "Blessed is he that cometh
in the name of the Lord." (Matt.23:39)
• 3. The first resurrection of all believers, all those who have hitherto belonged to Christ,

“In the manifestation of the glory of the children of God, the whole creation will take part and be liberated.
Then nobody and nothing will be evil or harmful, because the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge
of the Lord, as the ocean is full of water from shore to shore. All mankind will serve God in truth, and all
animals will obey man dutifully. There will be no more carnivorous animals, which are now so bloodthirsty,
wild, and cruel. For this reason the law forbade man to eat blood-foods. The lion will eat straw like the ox,
and snakes will be playful with children. Christ will reign visibly among His people Israel at that time, and the
heathen will ask for Him. But the anti-Christian nations will be annihilated because they did not look to
Christ at the time assigned to them, when they only cared for temporal glory and justice, instead of
repenting and being obedient to God. The inner urge for Christ and His salvation will be so overwhelming
that nations will stream together from all corners of the earth to New Jerusalem to see the king of honor

“The first coming of Christ has already fulfilled this prophesy in a spiritual sense by changing the nations
from wild, poisonous and harmful brutes into tame, gentle, friendly people. Their attitudes, which were
ever so strange and hostile towards each other, became one heart and one soul in Christ, one body and
one spirit. In a physical sense it will only be fulfilled in the last time, in the thousand-year Sabbath of the
people of God, when the primal curse will be removed from the earth, which has bound all creatures and
nature until now. The blessing will come again and renew everything to the original and glorious state of
Paradise. (See Acts 3: 21, also Matt. 19: 28; Rom. 8: 17 etc.)”

“All utterance of the prophets and apostles testify that all this will take place on earth. . . . through Adam's
fall and Satan's occupation, it has been separated from heaven. The Lord of heaven, Jesus, beat this
