per square foot.
Cargo Pod A 230 lbs.
Cargo Pod B 310 lbs.
Cargo Pod C 270 lbs.
Cargo Pod D 280 lbs.
- Made of Nomex, Kevlar and Fiberglass.
- BETA range should not be used in excess of 30 sec. if there is a crosswind from the right
side to avoid damaging the cargo pod.
Electrical System:
- System has a 28v 300A generator cooled by a ram air and an integral fan. Main power
source.
2
Airframe:
- All metal
- High wing, 52’ 1” wingspan.
- Tricycle landing gear
- Conventional fuselage
- Semi-monocoque
- Bulkhead, Landing gears is attached to it.
- Integrated type fuel tanks
- Front and rear spares.
- Glide ratio with the propeller feathered is 2NM for every 1000’.
Power Plant:
- It consists of 7 mayor components:
o Accessory Gearbox (AGB)
o Air Inlet
o Compressor Section
o Combustion Chamber
o Turbine Section
o Exhaust Outlet
o Reduction Gearbox àTorque is measured here.
- There are two exhaust pipes from the single exhaust that form a venturi that helps provide
more airflow for the oil cooler.
- Power Turbine runs at 33,000 RPM at a propeller speed of 1900 RPM.
- There are 14 fuel nozzles of the duplex type.
- There are 2 igniters are located in the 4 and 8 position of the combustion chamber.
- ITT temperature is provided by 7 temperature sensors.
- There are 3 governors: the propeller governor, the over speed governor and the turbine
speed governor.
- Power Lever: MAX, IDLE, BETA, REVERSE. The REVERSE may be used for up to 1
minute. Connected to the FCU.
o Limitation: Reverse linkage can be damaged if the power lever is moved aft of the
idle position with the propeller control lever in the feather position.
o BETA – Reverse mode should NOT be used in flight.
- Emergency Power Lever: used when the power lever is not operating (P3 failure, about
48% Ng, ITT 500°C – 600°C) it is connected directly to the metering valve. Connected to
the FCU.
o Emergency Power Lever limitations:
§ There is no BETA or reverse.
§ Power lever must be in IDLE position.
4
Ignition Usage:
- In air starts without the starter.
- Operating on water covered runways.
- Flight in heavy precipitation.
- When flying into inadvertent icing for the first 5 min after the inertial separator is on.
- When using the Emergency Power Lever
- When near fuel exhaustion.
- During takeoffs and landings.
Fuel System:
- Consists of 2 main fuel tanks and a fuel reservoir.
- Fuel flow during engine start should be between 90 – 140 pph.
- There are 4 transmitters, 2 in each tank that transmit fuel quantity information.
- System has 3 fuel pumps: Fuel boost pump (electric), the ejector pump (Motive flow) and
the mechanical engine driven pump (approx. 900 psi)
- The engine driven pump does not have redundancy; if it fails the engine will flame out.
Under inspection you will see a blue dye in the engine compartment if it has begun to fail.
“Blue dye, you die”
- There are 10 fuel drains
- Electrical fuel boost pump will start operation if fuel pressure drops below 2.5 psi. This is
measured in the Fuel Manifold Assembly and the FUEL PRESS LOW CAS message is
shown.
- Fuel low will come on when there is 25 US GAL (170 lbs.) or less remaining in the fuel
tank.
- The EX uses an Ecology Tank which does not require to be drained.
- When the “ RSVR FUEL LOW ” light comes on, it indicates that the reservoir is
approximately ½ full, with enough fuel for 4.5 minutes of idle power or 1.5 minutes of max
power. Approximately 2.5 US GAL of fuel. (Reservoir has 5 US GAL when full)
- The fuel flows from the tanks to the reservoir by gravity with approx. 10 psi.
5
Avionics:
- There are 2 Pitot/Static ports, one on each wing. The left one supplies information for the
standby instruments.
- An alarm will sound if air speed exceeds 175 Kts.
- Air speed indicator:
o White arc: 50 to 125 Kts
o Green arc: 63 to 175 Kts
o Red Line: 175 Kts
- Vacuum system
o The vacuum system runs of bleed air obtained from the power plant.
o The vacuum system provides suction for the standby attitude indicator, the only
indication of a vacuum failure is the orange flag on that indicator.
- The Air Data Computer (ADC or GDC) receives input for the pitot/static system and
provides Airspeed, Altitude and Vertical Speed.
- There are two magnetometers, one on each wing.
- Dynamic Redline: shows takeoff power when below 16.000 ft MSL and maximum rated
power above 16.000 ft MSL. Turns static if the OAT difference between sensor 1 and 2 is
greater than 5°C.
- MEPT: provides manual electric pitch trim capability when autopilot is not engaged. Will
disconnect A/P if engaged.
- CWS: allows manual control of the aircraft while A/P is engaged. Syncs FD to current
attitude (if not in a vertical navigation, glide slope or glide path).
- Stuck PTT: stops transmitting after 35 sec. Blue cable can be cut to disable stuck PTT.
- RAIM: receiver autonomous integrity monitoring. Assess the integrity of GPS signals in a
GPS receiver system.
- FDE: fault detection and exclusion. Enables GPS to continue to operate in the presence of
a GPS failure.
- GA button:
o Disconnects A/P
o Sets FD 7.5° nose up.
o Activates the missed approach.
o Approach

- Ng must be over 55% for operation of the A/C
Stall Speed
- Flaps up, Power Idle: 63 KIAS
- Flaps Full, Power Idle: 50 KIAS
Ng percentages.
- 92% = Bleed valve closes when above 92%.
- 86% = Bleed valve opens when Ng falls below 86%
- 72% = oil pressure green arc

- 65% = high idle
- 55% = A/C can be used
- 55% = low idle
- 48% = P3 failure
- 46% = starter disengaged
- 36% = secondary fuel nozzles engage
- 12% = minimum Ng for engine starting (advancing the fuel condition lever)
