speed governor.
- Power Lever: MAX, IDLE, BETA, REVERSE. The REVERSE may be used for up to 1
minute. Connected to the FCU.
o Limitation: Reverse linkage can be damaged if the power lever is moved aft of the
idle position with the propeller control lever in the feather position.
o BETA – Reverse mode should NOT be used in flight.
- Emergency Power Lever: used when the power lever is not operating (P3 failure, about
48% Ng, ITT 500°C – 600°C) it is connected directly to the metering valve. Connected to
the FCU.
o Emergency Power Lever limitations:
§ There is no BETA or reverse.
§ Power lever must be in IDLE position.

o Third Section, Rear engine, 450°F (232°C)

Fuel System:
- Consists of 2 main fuel tanks and a fuel reservoir.
- Fuel flow during engine start should be between 90 – 140 pph.
- There are 4 transmitters, 2 in each tank that transmit fuel quantity information.
- System has 3 fuel pumps: Fuel boost pump (electric), the ejector pump (Motive flow) and
the mechanical engine driven pump (approx. 900 psi)
- The engine driven pump does not have redundancy; if it fails the engine will flame out.
Under inspection you will see a blue dye in the engine compartment if it has begun to fail.
“Blue dye, you die”
- There are 10 fuel drains
- Electrical fuel boost pump will start operation if fuel pressure drops below 2.5 psi. This is
measured in the Fuel Manifold Assembly and the FUEL PRESS LOW CAS message is
shown.
- Fuel low will come on when there is 25 US GAL (170 lbs.) or less remaining in the fuel
tank.
- The EX uses an Ecology Tank which does not require to be drained.
- When the “ RSVR FUEL LOW ” light comes on, it indicates that the reservoir is
approximately ½ full, with enough fuel for 4.5 minutes of idle power or 1.5 minutes of max
power. Approximately 2.5 US GAL of fuel. (Reservoir has 5 US GAL when full)
- The fuel flows from the tanks to the reservoir by gravity with approx. 10 psi.
5

- Fuel weight is approx. 6.7lbs per gallon.

Page

Cap. Rom Koutnik Trans Island Airways Ver 1.2

- Fuel selector off alarm:
o If both selectors are off: 1 alarm will sound and light will come on.
o If one tank is off during start: 2 alarms will sound and light will come on.
o If one tank is off and the other has less than 25 US GAL: 1 alarm will sound and
light will come on.

Engine fuel system:

provides Airspeed, Altitude and Vertical Speed.
- There are two magnetometers, one on each wing.
- Dynamic Redline: shows takeoff power when below 16.000 ft MSL and maximum rated
power above 16.000 ft MSL. Turns static if the OAT difference between sensor 1 and 2 is
greater than 5°C.
