TIPS & NOTES

1. Use the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader if
you want to print this pattern for personal use.

2. If you are a left-handed crocheter, simply follow

the exact same instructions, while working in the
opposite direction. Work clockwise when you
crochet in the round or from left to right when you
crochet in rows. Left-handed crochet is a mirrored
work of right-handed crochet. All diagrams in this
pattern indicate the RS for right-handed crochet,
which is the WS for left-handed crochet.

3. This pattern is written in US terms. You can use

the conversion chart below if you need to convert
stitches to UK standards.

weight yarn (4). Use a stitch marker to mark the
beginning of each round as you go.

Bunny Ears
To beg: Ch 11
Row 1: (WS) Sc in second ch from hook (the skipped
4 sc in last ch; working across the opposite
side of the foundation ch, sc in next 9 chs;
turn = 22 sts
Row 2: (RS) Ch 1 (does not count as a st now and
throughout), sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, hdc
in next 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in each of
next 4 sts, dc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 3 sts,
sc in next 4 sts; do not turn = 26 sts
Row 3: (RS) Ch 1, skip first st, rsc in next 24 sts, sl st in
last st = 25 sts
Finishing: Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Bear Ears

Row 4: (RS) Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, [2 sc

Row 5: (RS) Ch 1, skip first st, rsc in next 14 sts, sl st in
last st = 15 sts
Finishing: Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

FINISHING a-1
Position the ears with the raw edge just under the
edge of the head, holding the bunny ears next to
each other, or leaving 3-4 sts between the bear ears.
Using the long tail from each ear, backstitch across RS,
then whipstitch across WS (photos a-1 and a-2). Fasten
off and weave in the ends.

Thread the needle with any contrasting color yarn

and stitch sleepy eyes, spacing them 2-3 rounds away
from the center of the head. Bring the needle down
through the sts on WS, for stitching the nose 2 rounds
below the center. Stitch a Y-shaped nose for bunny or
a T-shaped nose for bear (photo a-3). Fasten off and
weave in the end. a-2
