Good morning, everyone, I’d like to start by introducing myself.

My name is Marc, I’m 17 years old and

I’m a comp sci major. Today I am going to speak about the topic: Threats of AI or Artificial Intelligence. AI
has been on the rise over the past few years. It’s been proven to introduce significant benefits and
advancements in various fields, but it also poses several threats and challenges. Three of these threats
include data breaches, surveillance concerns and job displacement.

1. Firstly, let's look at Data Breaches: AI systems rely on vast amounts of data to operate
effectively. This data is used for the AI to learn, predict and give suggestions. However, this data
can be a target for malicious individuals and organizations looking to exploit vulnerabilities in
databases. Data breaches can lead to the exposure of sensitive personal information, financial
data, or trade secrets.
2. Next up, Surveillance: AI-powered surveillance technologies, such as facial recognition and
movement tracking can be used for mass surveillance. This raises a large concern about the
violation of user privacy. AI has also been shown to be able to track demographics associated
withpolitical views. The unauthorized use of AI for surveillance by governments and other
organizations such as social media platforms will lead to a loss of privacy and potential abuse of
power.

3. Thirdly, Job Displacement: This deals with the Automation of Jobs: AI and automation
technologies have the potential to disrupt various industries by replacing tasks traditionally
performed by humans. Some of these industries include the farming and marketing sectors.
While this can lead to increased efficiency and productivity, it also raises concerns about
unemployment and the need for retraining in the workforce..

In summary, AI is a huge advancement in human technology, but it comes with some downsides. Some
of which are vulnerabilities to data breaches, surveillance usage and an increase in unemployment.I
believe that continuous research and monitoring is necessary to understand and control the risks
associated with AI technologies. This brings my presentation to a conclusion. Thank you all for your
time! Any questions?
