The Department of Education (DepEd) had its annual “Brigada Eskwela” from August 1 to
26, 2022 for all public elementary and secondary schools nationwide. “Brigada Eskwela” is also
known as the National Schools Maintenance Week.
In connection with this, the school head and teachers of Dumantay Elementary School
together with the parents, barangay officials and other stakeholders work closely to prepare the
school for the coming school year. Teachers prepared all the needed materials specially their
lesson plans, instructional materials and the learning environment. Everybody made sure that the
classrooms are secured and safe for the learners. Covid-19 is still spreading and it still continue to
scare the learners, that is why, the people in the community work closely to provide the learners
not just a clean environment but also a covid-free school for the learners. Signages and reminders
are posted in every corner of the school to remind everyone to be more aware
In addition, kinder teachers together with other teachers conducted an enrichment activity
for those learners who are struggling in terms of reading and writing (literacy and numeracy). They
prepared and distributed learning materials that can help learners in improving their reading and
writing skills.
