ART INTEGRATED PROJECT IN SCIENCE


Topic: Chapter- CARBON AND ITS
COMPOUNDS
Importance of Art Education: Art as a subject at all stages is recommended, covering all four major spheres, i.e.
music, dance, visual arts and theatre. The emphasis is on interactive approaches, as the goal of art education is to
promote aesthetic and personal awareness and the ability to express oneself in different forms.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Read the instructions carefully before starting your Art integrated project.
2. Read Chapter4-Carbon and its Compounds and carry out the project from one of the topics as assigned by
the mentor from the list below:
Topics:
a. Covalent bonding in carbon compounds and versatile nature of carbon.
b. Allotropes of carbon, saturated and unsaturated carbon compounds.
c. Isomerism and functional groups.
d. Homologous series and Nomenclature of carbon compounds.
e. Chemical properties of carbon compounds, properties of Ethanol and Ethanoic acid.

3. Present your chosen topic in any of the art forms like: Visual Art-Photography/ Collage making/ Pictorial
representation/ Computer graphics/ poster making/PPT/ Photoshop/ Short Film making. Clay modeling-
Construction /Carving Sculptures. Performing and languages-Poetry/Creative writing/Vocal/
Instrumental/Puppetry/Story writing/Comic strips/Brochure, Dance/Drama-Mime/ skit/etc
4. Projects can be hand written on A4 sheet or can be prepared with the help of electronic devices/software.
5. Short films/drama/dance/music videos should not be more than 2-3 minutes. The MS Word/PPT documents
may be converted to PDF.
6. The projects have to be carried out in a group with students individually presenting the subtopics assigned to
them in any of the art forms as listed above
7. Originality of the content will also be considered as an assessment criterion. Do not copy-paste information
from the internet.
8. The projects have to be kept ready for presentation after the school reopens.
