Use these terms and definitions below to understand concepts taught in the course.

Term Definition

vision statement An aspirational description of what you aim to achieve in the future. It
helps guide your current and future courses of action.

mission statement Describes the activities and processes that you will use to achieve your
goals.

theory-of-change Specifically articulating what you aspire to achieve and mapping out
your assumptions for how you will achieve it.

financial Involves collecting financial data, producing accurate reports, and

management solving near-term financial issues.

financial leadership Guides a nonprofit towards growth and sustainability.
