Axon Facet Relationships: Data Governance Playbook
Informatica Axon has 25 facets in total that you can use to describe different aspects of your organization and govern the data items as necessary. All
facets in Axon are interconnected. For detailed information on each facet, refer to the Informatica Axon Data Governance Playbook.
You can create unidirectional, bidirectional, and inferred connections between facets. Unidirectional connections start from one facet to another and not
the other way around. Bidirectional connections start from either of the facets. Inferred connections link one facet to another through other facets.
This document provides a visual representation of connections between facets that you can create from the Axon interface. Note that this document
does not depict the facet relationships based on the Unison search logic.

BUSINESS AREA Capability
A business area is a department or team with certain assigned
responsibilities in a wider organization. You can express a realistic,
simpler view of the organization, and use names that business
users can understand easily.
For example, the Sales department has a Client Onboarding business
area that is responsible for onboarding new clients into your
organization.

The Client facet classifies the use of client information and links

client segments.
Use the Client facet where an organization wants to segment the
client types into different groups. For example, the client types can
be Retail, Wholesale, and Commercial.

data in your systems. Standard data quality rules are generic rules
described at the conceptual glossary-level. A local data quality rule
is defined within the context of a System object. Project

An interface facilitates the flow of information between systems.
Interfaces might be technical assets that are supplied by your IT

department or manual activities that you create to fully understand
the flow of data within an organization.
After you create an interface, you can document which attributes
flow through the interface. You can use system interfaces to explain
data lineage by looking at the attributes that link two objects.

LEGAL ENTITY
A legal entity describes the legal structure of an organization and its
business partners. Legal entity primarily identifies the ownership of
different assets within a company by linking systems to specific Process
legal entities.
Legal entities are helpful when organizations share resources as a
result of acquisitions, mergers, or divisions.
