Dear Honorable Dominico,

Greetings of optimism!

The Eastern Visayas State University Tacloban City – Graduate School students will be
organizing an extension activity as part of the course requirements in GSM Education 563.1
Vocational Industrial Education in Manpower Development. This activity is called, Learn and
Earn: A Livelihood Training Program with a theme, “Empowering Local Communities
towards Sustainable Development”, and was scheduled to take place on May 5, 2024, Sunday,
from 8:00 am to 12:00 nn.

Our activity aims to empower families to start a business for sustainable livelihoods
through our livelihood training program. We believe that hosting this event will provide an ideal
venue for us students, and our local partners to help build together a resilient and sustainable
community.

In connection, we would like to humbly ask your permission to allow us to conduct this
activity in your barangay as our extension partner. We will be training (10) ten clients for each of
the following skills: (a). Dressmaking, (b) Cookery, and (c) Electrical Installation
Management/Welding. Hence, we will be requesting the presence of (30) thirty community
members/head of the family who wish to join this activity. Snacks will be provided for them.
Moreso, we would like to request your good office to provide for us a suitable venue with access
to electricity for we will be using (1) one electric sewing machine, and (1) one welding machine,
and other needed facilities like (3) tables and (30) thirty chairs. We assure you that we will
adhere to the local policies and procedures.

We understand that there may be other events and activities taking place in your
community during this time, and we are more than willing to work around any scheduling
conflicts that may arise. Please consider our request favorably.
