Pinkey bear

Level: Advanced beginner

Yarn: Weight 6, super bulky

Hook: 5-6mm

This pattern requires sewing so be

sure to have scissors, a sewing
needle. Also it is very helpful to
have a stitch marker.

Crochet abbreviations:
Sc - single crochet
Inc - increase
Dec - decrease
Sl st - slip stitch crochet
FLO - front loop only
Ch - chain
Dc - double crochet
Tail - bobble stitch
Mr - magic ring
Bobble stitch - Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through
two. Repeat this step in the same stitch/space until you have a total of 6 loops on your
hook. Yarn over, pull through all 6 loops at once.
We will start from making the ears, muzzle and legs.

Ears *2:
Same color as your body

row 1: mr, 6sc

row 2: turn, ch 2, 5dc (start in
the 4 stitch from the hook) end
Leave a long strand for sewing

Muzzle:
Different color

row 1: mr, 8sc

row 2: 8inc
row 3: 2inc, 2sc, 3inc, 4sc, 3inc, 2sc
row 4: Sl st and end
Leave a long strand for sewing

Legs *4:
Same color as your body

row 1: mr, 6sc (6)

row 2: 6inc (12)
row 3: (sc, inc, sc)*4 (16)
row 4-6: 16sc (16)
row 7: (sc, dec, sc)*4 (12)
row 8-9: 12sc (12)
row 10: 6dec (6)
Leave a long strand for sewing

If you wish to achieve the same color switch as i did:

Instead of a sc, end row 4 with sl st
Instead of a sc, start row 5 with a color change sl st, then continue doing the 15 sc as instructed
Now here comes the tricky part. The head and the body
are crocheted in one piece. Before starting the body
we will attach the eyes, muzzle, and sew the nose. Also
based on where you make the bears face you will have
to locate and crochet the tail.

Head + body
row 1: mr, 6sc (6)
row 2: 6inc (12)
row 3: (inc, sc)*6 (18)
row 4: (sc, inc, sc)*6 (24)
row 5: (inc, 3sc)*6 (30)
row 6: (2sc, inc, 2sc)*6 (36)
row 7-12: 36sc (36)
row 13: (2sc, dec, 2sc)*6 (30)
row 14: (dec, 3sc)*6 (24)
row 15: (sc, dec, sc)*6 (18)
row 16: 18 sl st (18)
row 17: (sc, inc, sc)*6 FLO (24)
This is the time we stop, attach the muzzle and stuff it. Its shape
depends on the way you sew it to the head and how much you
stuff it(These eyes aren``t secured yet). This is how I do it:

The key to this shape is to sew the 3

corners wider than the 2 side edges.
The top corner should reach the 8
row, whereas the bottom edge
should be sewed on the 16 row.

Don`t forget to stuff the muzzle

Now based on how the muzzle looks you should find a nice spot
for the eyes. There is a really small entrance to the heads inside
so it might be challenging to secure the eyes.

The eyes were attached between row 8 and row 9. They were
about 6 stiches appart.

Now sew the nose.

Stuff the head and continue working on the body. Do not forget
to stuff the body before sewing the hole shut.

row 18: (inc, 3sc)*6 (30)

row 19-21: 30sc (30)
row 22: (inc, 3sc)*6 (36)
row 23-25: 36sc (36)

now this is the row where you will have to locate and crochet the tail*
(30)
row 26: (dec, 3sc)*6

(24)
row 27: (sc, dec, sc)*6
(18)
row 28: (dec, sc)*6
(8)
row 29: 9dec
row 30: Do some more decreases and sew
the hole shut.
Now sew the ears to head head. They should be from row 3 to
row 6.

Lastly sew the legs about here on both sides:
