NOTE
● The information in the compatibility list is subject to correction. Depending on the equipment fitted in
your vehicle, you may require an additional original Toyota cover. These are available online or from your
Toyota dealer.
The following section shows how to tell the difference on the basis of a Toyota Avensis 3G (Type T27).

1. If your vehicle has a basic factory-fitted

1 2 radio (similar to the one pictured here),
you need to acquire a suitable Toyota
cover for your vehicle before you can
install your Z-E6150.

2. If your vehicle has a high-quality

factory-fitted radio (as shown here
H = 100 mm, B = 200 mm), you can
easily swap to a Z-E6150.

2
ATTENTION
● The ZENEC system should be installed by an authorised retailer. Specific knowledge and tools are
required for installation. Incorrect installation can damage the vehicle and the ZENEC system.
● F
ault-free operation can only be guaranteed if you use the equipment supplied, or the optional ZENEC
original accessories. The ZENEC system and original accessories must never be modified or altered in
any way.
Incorrect handling can damage the vehicle and the ZENEC system.

NOTE
● The ZENEC Z-E6150 is equipped with an integrated DAB+ receiver. To use it, you need a suitable DAB
antenna (not supplied), which must be connected to the ZENEC system.
● If the target vehicle is fitted with an original DAB antenna, it can still be used in conjunction with the
ZENEC system.
● ZENEC system software updates are installed using a USB data stick. You must therefore ensure
that the USB connection on the ZENEC system remains accessible during installation (installation of
USB extension).
● If you have any queries or problems with the ZENEC system, please contact the retailer where you
purchased it.

fixture. There is a connection for the hazard light
switch on the rear of the cover. You must dis-
connect this before removing the plastic frame
completely.

4
5. Unscrew and remove the four Phillips (PH2) or
5 hex (10mm) screws from the original unit.

6. Carefully pull the original unit out of the radio bay.

6 Then unplug all cables on the rear of the unit.

Installation:
7. Transfer the original radio brackets (left and
7 right) to your ZENEC system.

8. (No picture)
Install the GPS antenna (No. 9) in a suitable
position, making sure that the GPS reception is
not adversely affected by unwanted shielding of
metallic vehicle parts (thermal insulation glazing,
etc.). Then route the connection cable into the
radio bay.

9. (No picture)
If you have purchased the optional external Blue-
tooth microphone (N-ZENC-MIC), install it now
and then insert the connection cable into the radio
bay. Depending on your preference, and whether
you select an internal or external microphone, the
microphone source for Bluetooth mode must be
set accordingly in the unit menu.

10. (No picture)

Route the USB extension cable (No. 7) from the
radio bay to your preferred position.

5
11. C
onnect the main connection cable (No. 2) of the
11
ZENEC system (No. 1) to the two radio plugs on
the vehicle.
epending on your vehicle, you must use either
D
the 20-pin (No. 3) or the 28-pin connector (No. 4)
to operate the AUX connector and the steering
wheel remote control. You must connect these to
the main connection cable.
he reverse gear signal is supported only by the
T
28-pin connector (No. 4). If your vehicle is fitted
with a 20-pin connector (No. 3), you need to use
a gauge to search for the reverse gear signal and
connect it directly to the main connection cable
(No. 2).
If you cannot find an ISO antenna plug in your
vehicle, it is most likely that your vehicle is using
a special Toyota antenna plug. If this is the case,
the set includes a FM ISO antenna interface (No.
6) which you can simply connect to the original
unit. If the antenna is active, you must also con-
nect the blue phantom power cable to the main
connection cable (No. 2).

12 12. R
emove both screws from the transport lock
prior to installing the ZENEC system (No. 1).

13. ( No picture)
Connect all cables previously installed in the
radio bay to the ZENEC system (No. 1).

14 14. C
arefully route the various connection cables of
the ZENEC system in the lower section of the
radio bay. Then slide the ZENEC system careful-
ly into the radio bay by applying controlled force.
Screw it back into position with the four Phillips
(PH2) or hex (10mm) screws.

6
15. Y
ou must reattach the radio cover once you
15 have fixed the ZENEC system back into position.
Remember to reconnect the plug for the hazard
lights to the rear of the radio cover. To finish in-
stallation, simply attach the plastic covers to the
left and right of the centre console.

NOTE
● E nsure that all the plugs on the rear of the unit have sufficient clearance and are not kinked.
● Any plug-in connections which do not have a securing mechanism must also be secured with
insulating tape.

STARTUP
Finally, carry out a general function test and perform the basic settings and vehicle-specific settings (steering
wheel remote control, etc.). Also make sure that no error messages are displayed in the vehicle.
