FOKKER 50 - SIMULATOR GRADING

Grading on the various subjects is based on the following abbreviations:

AS = Above standard
The candidate qualifies himself for the demanded quality level. During the
execution, elements are added, though not mentioned in the SOPs, that
increase safety.
S+ = Standard plus (i.e. the upper portion of the standard band)
The candidate qualifies himself for the demanded level and the execution of
the exercise is completely in accordance with the SOPs.
S = Standard
The candidate qualifies himself for the demanded quality level.
S- = Standard minus (i.e. the lower portion of the standard band).
The candidate qualifies himself for the demanded quality level though the
execution of the exercise, however safe, needs improvement.
BS = Below standard
The candidate does not qualify himself for the demanded quality level.

It is difficult to define standard performance. Standard reflects the required quality level as
deducted from explicit requirements arrived at by the company, after careful consideration.
The average level of performance is in no way related to the standard required.

Care should be taken to avoid assessments that assume standard performance because
most people operate at that level or act like that.

Although it is true that performance reflects a momentary observation, it is not intended that
previous experiences be of influence on the assessment.

Also, personal likes or dislikes, shall not be of influence as far as humanly possible.
Furthermore, the instructor's expectations with regard to the performance of a particular pilot
or previous experience with the same trainee shall not be of influence.
