The Governor has proposed the following:

$216 million in state funds plus an additional $266 million in

federal funds for rates.
$34.2 million to invest in a multi-year growth strategy to expand
the number of individuals in HCBS services and reduce the
waiting list.
Separate from the Budget address, the department announced
last Friday that a 6% supplemental payment will be made
available to providers in May.
Thank you to all of the self-advocates, families, DSPs, and all
other stakeholders who have contacted the Governor’s office -
this was a group effort of PAR and all of our partners, but the job
is not done. Over the next few months, we must contact our
legislators to maintain this critical funding in the budget. The
Governor’s overall budget is ambitious and will not be accepted
by the legislature in its entirety. We must meet with our
legislators to ensure that this funding for ID/A is included in the
final product that the Governor signs.
Health and Safety
Driver Safety initiative

A 4-second following distance will allow you

to steer or brake to avoid a hazard safely
on the highway, if the pavement is dry.

Reduce your speed by 5 to 10 mph on wet or

snowy roads and increase your following
distance to five or six seconds.

To determine your following distance,

watch the rear bumper of the vehicle ahead
of you. When the bumper passes a road
marking or a roadside object like a
telephone pole, start counting how many
seconds it takes you to reach the same
spot on the road. If you pass the marking or
object in less than four seconds OR five to
six seconds in wet or snowy conditions, you
are following too closely.

Northeast Phila. Part of 1300 from Pa- in the
middle of it- miles from Red Sea and Houti
drones, burn pits, constant surveillance. His
phone number gets texts- 610 301 5855, they
all need words of encouragement and updates
from home and just being
remembered/noticed. Still a fellow employee

many of you who have asked about him and
peers. Almost 2 months in, 10 to go.
