CPIS 428: Professional Computing Issues

Assignment 1 – Deadline Thursday 15th of February 20243 at 10:00 a.m.

In 600-800 words (1.5 space) write your personal value system (personal moral code). You
should cover at least TWO categories: personal values and career values. Read and learn about
personal and career values, use those ideas as a guidance to your own value system (your personal
moral code).

There is no right or wrong, kindly consider the following marking rubric:

- Adhere to the specified number of words: 600-800 words (excluding cover and 1
references).
- Provide proper presentation for your ideas (language and structure). 1
- Give the writing thought, effort, and time (show evidence of critical thinking). 1
- Cite any references you use (referencing and citation) or read (bibliography). A 1
minimum of two sources.
- Look for patterns and organize your ideas into specific main principles 6
(organized ideas). Each paragraph should discuss related values (personal or career
values) based on your real-life experiences and giving examples.

Assignment’s structure (what should it include)

1. Introduction paragraph (100 words)


- What is values and what is the purpose for your personal value system?
2. Personal values paragraph (200- 300 words)
- How do you behave with others?
3. Career values paragraph (200- 300 words)
- What person do you want to become in your workplace?
4. Conclusion/paragraph (100 words).

Assignment’s rules:

• You can use the above questions for inspiration, or you can write your own.
• For each 30 words (more or less than 600-800) a 0.5 mark will be deducted.
• Submission is on blackboard on the specified due date. No extension allowed.
• Late submission: 1 mark will be deducted for each day.
• Use proper citation and referencing styles when needed (APA or IEEE).
• No copy-paste allowed. Plagiarism will grant you zero in the relevant part.
• Don’t use AI tools to generate the content for your assignment.
