Dark Matter Episode #74 Wednesday Descending Wood 10 AU 20

[Theme Music Begins]

Narrator (N): "Welcome to 'Dark Matter', the podcast where we discuss and dissect everything that goes
bump in the night. I'm your host Michael Tennyson and today, we dive deep into the eerie world of the
supernatural, unraveling the mysteries of the uncanny Strix. As we delve into this mysterious web of Strix
folklore, remember: Not everything we discuss comes with 100% certainty or truth. Some of us are still
groping in the dark..."
[Investigative Music Cue]

N: "Let's begin at the earliest traces to the Strix. Ancient Rome provides our first references where these
Striges, spectral entities that bear an uncanny resemblance to owls, are said to have struck a deal with
the Julii. Or so some say. There are rumors that they originate from the Neolithic era. But let me assure
you, the truth is as elusive as these nemeses."
[Ghostly Sound Effect]

N: "Is a Strix a manifestation of the beast within a vampire? Are they the demons that yearn to reunite
with their kindred brethren? Many believe so, while others vehemently deny their connection with the
Kindred at all. The Strix are enigmatic, to say the least, and their true intentions remain largely unknown."
[Dark Music Cue]

N: "Imagine a creature that can possess corpses, animate the dead, and even invade the bodies of
vampires and revenants. Wouldn't you think twice about dismissing those yellow-eyed tales as mere
urban legends? For all their smoke and shadows, Striges have a corporeal side that can be as gruesome
as any bloody talons, particularly when these talons are sunk into flesh. And no, that's not just a tall tale."
[Ghostly Sound Effect]

N: "The sound of bells sends them into a frenzy. You can never spot one in broad daylight. Although,
none of these 'weaknesses' have been conclusively proven. While some assert that fire or sunlight could
provide protection against a Strix, others insist that a Strix is invulnerable in its shadow form. Who do we
believe? Indeed, that's a tough call."
[Eerie Music Cue]

N: "What we can confirm, though, is the Strix's attraction to destruction and chaos. Earthquakes, great
fires, plague outbreaks - all seem to serve as magnets for these malevolent creatures. Could they sense
impending disaster, as birds instinctively return to their nests before a storm? Or could they, in fact, be the
harbingers of such doom? As you ponder over these mysterious creatures, remember to keep your
skeptics hat on and your wits about you. In the realm of the supernatural, only one thing is certain -
nothing is what it seems. Stay shadowy, my friends, and be prepared to face whatever dwells in the
darkness."
[Outro Music Begins]

N: "So, until next time, stay vigilant, stay wise, and stay safe in a world where shadows have wings, and
'owl' might not simply mean a nocturnal bird."
[Theme music fades out. End]

(Note: The above content includes several urban legends and unverified facts about the Strix, keeping
with the general tone of mystery and unease of the show.)
