Good afternoon honorable mayor and city council members. I am Mr. Ochoa.

I
represent New Energy Company. In this opportunity, I am going to talk about a new
energy source for the city. Let me stress that this idea has been successful in other
countries like Brazil. I would like to point out it is unusual, but friendly with the
environment. Do you like sugar? I think many people would say yes. How will you
react if I tell you, sugar could help satisfy the world's energy needs. Imagine that!
Experts call it the sweet hydrogen. Surprised? Don’t forget that Lou Del Bello, a famous
energy, and climate change journalist claims the principle is turn sugar into hydrogen.
Percival Zhang, professor of bioengineering at Virginia Tech Institute, is enthusiastic
about that. He says, "scientists have poor imaginations". Zhang is pursuing alternative
energy. The professor believes why not take advantage of an abundant natural resource,
sugar? "Our idea is that simple," he says. "We call the project Sweet Hydrogen."
On the other hand, a team of Chinese students have released a special sugar battery.
Sugar has been utilized for its building. In fact, these are some interesting ideas to not
contaminate the world, but they are in process. Ok, after this background, it is important
to note that in these days some countries are using bioelectricity. it has emerged as an
alternative to avoid pollution.
we enable to generate electricity from sugar cane. In my perspective it is a renewable
energy source. It is important to remember that sugar cane is a sustainable resource that
can be grown always. Our objective is in the future to grant an energy solution for the
city. I want to emphasize it produces lower greenhouse gas emissions than fossil fuels,
in other words the city reduces its carbon footprint and promote environmental
sustainability.
I think it is fine to note the important economic benefits of investing in sugar cane
electricity generation. This renewable energy could create new job opportunities in
cities and countries, promote economic progress in the agricultural area, and decrease
energy costs for the communities in the future.
I know that some of you are thinking that sound amazing, but how does it work? Let me
explain briefly. The bagasse that is the remaining residue of sugar cane is washed to
extract its liquid, then heated. It will then be burned in a thermal power plant at more
than 500 degrees. This combustion will emit steam and turn turbines that will produce
electricity. Our company wants to help found a project. It would be ideal if Lima had
large sugar cane plantations, but there are cities near where we can find sugar cane.
Establishing friendship with farmers can help ensure a supply of it for electricity
production. We are looking forward to visiting these places.
Producing electricity from sugar canes in Lima is feasible because this city has a
tropical weather and fertile land. I would say you have a mmm it is on the tip of my
tongue you have a blessed land. In conclusion we believe it is possible to establish a
sugar cane-based electricity project in Lima that benefits people who live here and
contributes to renewable energy objectives and supports sustainable development in this
region. You know we have to go green. We hope you can think about this idea and make
your researches if you have doubts. Thanks for listening .
