STATEMENT OF RESULTS
The participant will write two national exams: Paper 1 and
Paper 2, and if the candidate successfully passed each
exam, will then be given an appropriate Statement of
Results by the Department of Education.

AFTER THE EXAMS
After both exams have successfully been passed, the
candidate can take the next step towards preparing for the
practical assessment in which the candidate will be
measured against specific unit standards.
The candidate will be required to provide certified copies of
achievements such as a Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal),
N3 or N3 equivalent, at least one year experience as an
electrical engineer, electrical technician, electrical foreman,
electrician, or a millwright, and the applicant’s results for
Installation Rules exams (SANS 10142-1), which forms part
of the applicant’s Portfolio of Evidence (PoE).
Any person attempting the examination must be able to
apply the regulations set out; to design, construct, inspect,
verify and to test electrical installations accordingly, and
thereby ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
The candidate will then have to be assessed, moderated
and a request to have the unit standards recorded against
the candidate’s name will be submitted to the EWSETA.
