Becoming and staying physically fit is an important part of achieving
optimal health. A well-rounded exercise program can improve your health in a
number of ways. It lower blood pressure, it increases muscle strength and
function, it help maintain a healthy body weight, it help promote positive mental
health, it decreases the risk of some disease. Each component offers specific
health benefits, but optimal health requires some degree of balance between all
five.
Arguments:
Physical activity can help lower blood pressure. While you are
exercising, your blood pressure (along with your pulse) goes up, to supply the
additional blood flow that your exercising muscles need. Otherwise, regular
exercise lowers your blood pressure throughout the day.
Physical activity can improve muscle strength and function. A strength
exercise is any activity that makes your muscles work harder than usual.
This increases your muscles' strength, size, power and endurance. The activities
involve using your body weight or working against a resistance. You should try to
do 2 sessions or more of muscle strengthening exercises a week.
Physical activity can help maintain a healthy body weight. Physical
activity increases people's total energy expenditure, which can help them stay in
energy balance or even lose weight, as long as they don't eat more to compensate
for the extra calories they burn. Physical activity decreases fat around the waist
and total body fat, slowing the development of abdominal obesity.

is not only good for your body, but it's also great for your mind. Being active
releases chemicals in your brain that make you feel good - boosting your self-
esteem and helping you concentrate as well as sleep well and feel better.

enthusiasm every day. A happy mind tends to avoid disease.
