Yuval’s red panda
Materials
• 3 colors of yarn
- color A for body, head (orange in the photo)
- color B for head, ears, nose (white in photo)
- color C for legs, head, ears, hands (brown in photo)
• Hook in the appropriate size
• Two safety eyes (6 mm in photo)
• Safety nose
• Stuf ng
• Scissors

Abbreviations How to read the pattern


• {} - inside instructions needs to be repeated
• Ch - chain
the amount of times that’s stated
• Sc - single crochet
• X 8 - 8 times (example)

stitches you did in the row
• Dec - decrease

In color A
1. 6 sc in MR (6)
2. 6 inc (12)
3. {1 sc, inc} X 6 (18)
4. {2 sc, inc} X 6 (24)

6. 5 sc, 2 inc, in color B: 4 sc, in A: 2 inc, 11 sc (28)
7-9. 5 sc, in color B: 2 sc, in color C: 2 sc, in color B: 4 sc,

• you can now cut and secure color B & C yarn.

• Leave a long tail for sewing, cut the yarn and fasten off
• Place the eyes between rows 6-7 (where the inc for the cheeks are),
6 st apart, where color B and C meet - see photo.
• Stuff the head.

Ears Nose
In color C (notice you can flip the colors if you want) In color B

Face Assembly
1. Use color B yarn and stitch needle to pull the yarn above the eyes between
rows 4-5 diagonally to between the rows 5-6 (see photo)
2. Sew the ears flat starting between rows 3-4 of the head, down to rows 7-8.
About 2 st away from the white stripes.
3. Sew the nose on the color B part between rows 5-6 and 8-9 of the head.
Legs
In color C
1. 9 sc in MR (9)
2-3. 9 sc - 2 rounds overall
On the rst leg, cut the yarn and fasten off,
Do not cut the yarn on the second leg

On the second leg, Ch 1 and sc into the other leg on the second stitch from the fasten off.
Place your st marker there, from the next stitch we’ll begin building the body
(the next stitch after the stitch marker is the rst stitch on the next round)

• There can be gaps on the leg connections, you can sew them close.

Assembly

1. Sew the head to the body.


2. Sew the hands to the side of the body 5 st apart, between rows 9-10 up
to the connection between the head and the body.
3. Sew the tail between rows 7-8
