Cyclist struck, killed by car in Wah Cantt

Jinnah Road was closed in Wah after the crash. Cantt Police said the
driver stayed at the scene.
Wah Cantt, —Jinnah Road was closed Thursday afternoon while the
Cantt police responded to a crash that left a person riding a bicycle dead.
According to a police release, a car heading east in a great speed on
Jinnah Road hit a bicyclist a 25 year old man near the roundabout just
after 3 p.m. , with police called to the area at about 3:30pm.

The cyclist was taken to a hospital urgently and after a few time of
treatment was declared dead, police representative said. “The driver
stayed at the scene and was cooperative with police”,” and that there is
no initial indication of impairment or distraction”. "As to the facts and
circumstances — that will come out later once the investigators have had
a chance to do their job. Driver will be charged or released accordingly".
Road was closed and was not expected to reopen for at least a few hours.

Debris from the bike was strewn across the Road. Police are asking
anyone who witnessed the crash or the events leading up to it to call
0333-4413333."The thing that's really obvious is it's not that hard if you
just drive and concentrate on driving with your seatbelt on and don't
speed, you don't die."

Last year there were 7 deaths and 15 serious injuries on main Jinnah
road.
