Question in 11/10/2014:
Today more and more people are using mobile phones and computers. Thus, people are
losing the ability to communicate face to face. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
ANSWER
Many people argue that nowadays people are gradually losing the ability to talk face-to-
face because they use phones and computers more and more. i partly agree with this idea
depending because it depends on how people use/utilize these.
Many individuals contend that in today's society, people are progressively losing their
capacity to engage in face-to-face conversations due to the increasing use of phones and
computers. I partially agree with this notion, as it largely depends on how individuals choose to
utilize these technologies.
On the one hand, when people use smart phones smartphones and computers with an
Internet connection, they could lose face-to-face communication for several main reasons.
Firstly, people often spend most of their time playing games, watching Youtube, Facebook or
reading news on social networks, that they don’t therefore, they do not talk to their friends and
relatives./ People's excessive engagement with games, YouTube, and social media leads to
reduced communication with friends and relatives. As a result, they seldom interact and talk to
others and gradually lose the capability to talk/interact/communicate face-to-face. Secondly,
the modernity and attractiveness of smart technology make people fascinated and isolated. For
example, many adolescents are stuck in game engrossed in gaming activities all day, making
virtual friends on sicial social networks to play games together in stead instead of making
friends in real life, and these virtual relationships are a poor subtitute substitute for real - life
friendships.
On the other hand, interactive interacting with phones and computers through applications
such as video calling on social networks is almost like meeting face-to-face today. It allows
people to see pictures and talk to each other without seeing each other, and it helps them stay in
touch wherever they are./ Platforms like video calls and conference apps facilitate virtual face-
to-face conversations even when physical proximity is not possible. For example, students can
now take online lessons with their teachers without going to class. Also, now people can search
for many interesting programs on the internet that teach them how to communicate well in life.
