I. Objectives:
At the end of 60 minutes, students should be able to:
A. Identify participial adjective is being used,
B. Select the proper adjective in the sentence; and
C. Write a sentence using participial adjectives

II. Subject Matter


A. Title of the Lesson: Participial Adjective
B. Reference: Grade 9,Quarter 3, Module 6
C. Materials: Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan, Desktop, Power Point Presentation, Video clips

III. Procedure
A. Preliminaries (5 minutes)
1. Greetings
2. Classroom Rules (AVP)
3. Prayer (AVP)
4. Presenting the objectives of the lesson

B. Motivation (10 minutes)


1. Presenting picture with caption
2. Group the students into three groups
3. Every group have a leader, leader will be in “hot seat”
3. Students will act the picture shown in the screen , the one who is in the hot seat will guess and
answer.

C. Development of the Lesson (3 minutes)


1. Ask the following questions:
a. What did you observe in the words?
b. What do you think our topic for today?

2. Let the students answer the question base on their observation.

D. Lesson Proper (20 minutes)


1. Discuss the following:
a. The definition of participial adjective
b. Discuss the type of adjectives
c. How participial adjective used in a sentence
d. Identify participial adjective is being used

E. Evaluation (15 minutes)


Select the proper participial adjective in the sentence;

1. I am so (relaxing/ relaxed) I don’t want to move.


2. The program was really (interesting/interested)
3. She is never (satisfying/ satisfied) with her work.
4. He’ s very (interesting/ interested) in history.
5. The news was so (shocking/shocked) that she burst into tears.
6. My niece is (terrifying/terrified) of dogs.
7. I am really (tiring/tired);I think I’ll go to bed.
8. My grandmother was ( shocking /shocked) by the man’s bad language.
9. Thank you so much for the prize! I’m (thrilling/thrilled)
10. The trip was (overwhelming/overwhelmed) with so many things to do and it was all so new.

F. Generalization (5 minutes)

Identify what type of participial adjective is being used.


1. The spiced cookie was delicious.
2. I used a simplified recipe.
3. The emptied cabinet is waiting to be filled.
4. Baked chicken has fewer calories than fried chicken.
5. The excited dog barked and jumped.
