‘Creating a databank’ within the hairdressing salon is another term

used for recording and storing the information that you need as to run
your services smoothly and professionally.

This can be done either Manually or Electronically.

Manual Information System
In a manual system we begin by creating a record card holding the required
information. The information we need to collect depends on the use we hope
to make of it at the next stage of the process, the analysis.

We can opt asking each client to complete a record card at the time of her
appointment.

Obviously, since you are not using an electroni system, you need to devise and
follow a system of:
Indexing
&
Filing
That allows easy reference. Ms N Camenzuli

Electronic Information System

If you are storing information on a computerised system you need to devise

and follow a system of indexing and filing that allows easy reference.

The information on the cards can be fed into a computerised system.

Remember that the information inputted is subject to:

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679

and the
Data Protection Act (DPA), Cap. 586 of the Laws of Malta.

Data Protection vs Client’s Appointment Book

When recording appointments, safety and security of client

information like:

• Name & Surname

• Contact number
• Date & Time

Should be taken into consideration since they can be used to identify

a person if their data falls into the wrong hands.
