Configuration steps for Flexible Sales Document Numbering:

1. Define Number Range Prefixes for SD Documents


Path:

Click on “New Entries” and add your number range prefix

2. Define Number Ranges for Sales Documents


Path:
Put your number range prefix and select Intervals, then define your number range and save it.

3. Define Parameter Catalogs for Flexible Sales Document Numbering


Path:
There are already some standard parameter catalogs. Customers can also add new parameter
catalog to define business rules.

4. Define Formulas for Flexible Sales Document Numbering


Path:
 Define formulas: Click “Define Formulas” and then on new entries to define a formula
with a description and Save.

 Click your Formula and go to Assign formula parameters


 Click “Formula Tasks” to define Formula Tasks. In usage “S01”, there is only one usage
task “SET_NUMBER_RANGE” to determine the number range.

 Select the usage task and click “Assign Parameter Priority” to define the priority of the
parameter.

 Click “Define Decision Table” to maintain business rules based on selected parameters.
5. Define Custom Routines for Flexible Sales Document Numbering
Path:

 Define custom routine for the formula which was defined in the previous step.

 Click the sub-folder “Assign Enhancement IDs to a Routine Number” to link the formula
to the custom routine.
6. Assign Custom Routines to Sales Document Types
Path:

 Search for your sales document type and click that

 Link custom routine to sales document type so that business rules defined in the
formula can function in the sales document process.
TEST SALES ORDER:
Save it.
