Patients at risk of asthma-related cardiac arrest:
⚫ a history of near-fatal asthma requiring intubation and
mechanical ventilation,
Hypothermia V:
⚫ death due to irreversible hypothermia,
⚫ core temperature <13.7 °C

Diagnosis:
⚫ hypothermia is diagnosed in any patient with a core
temperature <35 °C, or where measurement
unavailable, a history of exposure to cold, or when the
trunk feels cold,
⚫ colloids,
⚫ treat causes,
Early intubation
Anaphylaxis - treatment
Oxygen (give as soon as available),

Repeat the IM adrenaline dose if there is no
improvement in the patient's condition within 5 min.
Further doses can be given at about 5-min intervals
according to the patient's response.

6 – 12 years 300 mcg (0,3 ml)
6 months – 6 years 150 mcg (0,15 ml)
<6 months 150 mcg (0,15 ml)
Anaphylaxis - treatment
Antihistamines (give after initial treatment):
e.g.: Clemastin 2mg i.m.
Not for children < 3y.o. !!!
⚫ enhancing elimination,
⚫ urinary alkalinisation,
May be used for reversal of benzodiazepine sedation when there is no history or risk of
seizures.
Toxins
Opioids:
⚫ respiratory depression followed by respiratory insufficiency
or respiratory arrest,
Total dose of up to 10 mg
Toxins
Tricyclic antidepressants:
⚫ hypotension,
⚫ seizures,
⚫ coma,
⚫ life-threatening arrhythmias - wide complex tachycardia
