Education's Indigenous Peoples Education Program (IPEd), established through DepEd Order 62, s. 2011, serves as a testament to these efforts. This program, which celebrated its first decade in 2021, has reached 2.5 million IP learners across 42,176 public schools. IPEd is designed to respect and promote the identities, knowledge systems, competencies, and values of indigenous learners. It includes initiatives such as contextualizing lesson plans, using local languages for teaching, involving elders as teachers, and utilizing ancestral domains as learning spaces.
