NOTES

1. All dimensions are in millimeters and levels are in meters. No dimension shall be
scaled off, only written dimension to be followed.
2. All specifications shall be strictly in accordance with latest editions of relevant IS codes.
3. The design is based on the proposal and details received vide letter No.W6-753/CE/IN/2022
dated 06.01.2022 and revised proposal vide dated 20.07.2022 of Chief Engineer (Inland
Navigation & Kuttanad Package).
4. All specification for pile foundation should be strictly in accordance with IS 2911-2010(Part 1
- section 2) .
5. Cover for reinforcement.
Pile - 75mm
Beam - 50mm
Column - 50mm
Slab - 40mm
6. Concrete Mix.
Pile - M35
Beam - M35
Column - M30
Slab - M30
7.Max. nominal aggregate size is 20 mm
8. Lap, anchorage, bending , tying and placing in position of reinforcement shall be done as per
relevant IS codes.
9. The thickness of the slab provided is 200mm
10. As per the soil report, pile is terminated at 14.90 m below ground level (Ground level at
+97.632 m) and the allowable axial capacity of each pile is 40 T.
11. Shuttering and scaffolding used shall conform to relevant IS codes.
12. Continuous moist curing shall be done for finishing concrete for a minimum period of 15
days.
13. Column reinforcement should be extended into the pile to obtain sufficient development
length.
14. Pile should rest on hard rock with 0.3 m embedment. If there is any variation in the rock
level, the same should be reported to this office and the revised design should be obtained.
15. Initial pile load test should be conducted as per IS 2911- part IV.
16. Before casting the pile cap it must be ensured that the pile is positioned exactly as per the
approved layout. Other wise it should be reported and reviewed before proceeding with the
construction of pile cap.
17. Static evaluation of capacity of piles is only arbitrary and hence the pile load test mentioned
above are to be strictly conducted and report to this office.
18. The reinforcement of piles are terminated at slab top.
19. The pile foundation is proposed with bored cast-in situ piles.
20. Change if any shall be reported to this office before the execution of work and revised
design may
be obtained.
21. The cement used shall conform to relevant IS standards.High yield strength deformed bars of
Fe 500 grade confirming to IS 1786-1985 should be used.Cover for all reinforcement shall be as
per standards. The use of standard cement and steel should be in full abeyance as per Circular
No. 8/2016/ Fin dated 04/02/2016 issued by Chief Technical Examiner, Government of Kerala.
22. Site officers should ensure that all IS codes and practices should be referred and incorporated
during course of construction. IDRB will not be responsible for any failure due to non
compliance of above.
23. The design mix should be approved by competent authority and quality check of relevant
materials should be performed at respective intervals as laid down in quality control manual to
ensure stability.
24. The measurements/dimensions as proposed in this drawing must be adopted without any
reduction in size and quality of all materials used in site and IDRB will not be responsible for
non compliance.
25. The adequacy of various provisions made in this drawing and the feasibility of this proposal
as a whole shall be examined at site by The Chief Engineer, Inland Navigation & Kuttanad
Package, Alapuzha and satisfied by himself to ensure the overall and long term safety of the
structure before taking up the work.
26. Any change in the design shall be made only with the concurrence of this office; otherwise
this drawing should be strictly followed. IDRB will not be responsible for any structural failure
due to nonconformity of drawings, quality of work and non-abeyance of above clauses during
execution.
27. Quality control should be followed as per relevant guidelines and the periodic check reports
should be attached with respective invoice of works for verification.
28. IDRB will not be responsible for any types of failure due to:
(a) Non conformance of quality of materials including water quality used for work as
per relevant clauses, IS codes Improper mix design.
(b) Non conformance of above clauses as referred above.
(c) Non abeyance of the drawings including any changes executed at site without IDRB
approval on these drawings issued.
(d) Variation with the investigation field data issued from site to IDRB for evolving this
design and with actual prevailing at site which may be visible/ identified during the course of
execution.
