1. Critical thinking and problem solving

Being part of the Peer Tutoring Club at Westmount Collegiate Institute, where I tutor and
assist grade 9 students with their homework, by using problem solving to work together to
solve complex homework questions or tasks.

2. Innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship

Dancing competitively allows me to develop creative tasks or prompts physically and turn
them into movement sequences to songs or counts. In dance, especially when creating
choreography you must be innovative to make a piece that is unique and versatile, while
constantly taking risks to step outside of your comfort zone.

3. Self-directed learning
Trying out and following along with new baking recipes from Youtube that I have never done
before.

4. Collaboration
Working in group projects at school to complete an assignment and ensuring every member
of the group is equally contributing and openly sharing their ideas.

5. Communication
Actively listening to others when speaking to each other and asking questions to better
understand and follow along with the conversation.

In swim training (Bronze Medallion) I had to work with other people to successfully do rescue
drills out of the water, where communication was a key factor to ensure the rescue goes
smoothly and follows all appropriate protocols.

By working as a counselor at summer day camp, I had to deal with difficult campers and
express to them how they should be treating other campers with respect and build personal
connections with them so they could gain my trust, which all came from setting expectations,
clarifying clearly what activities we are going to and what things they need (hats, sunscreen,
water, etc), and being there for them constantly if there were any issues between the campers
or if they needed someone to talk to.

6. Global competence

Developing strategies and working around the Israel time zone to be able to talk to my family
and friends who still live there over the phone. Although the time difference was a struggle to
work out, my ability to be understanding and be open to problem solving allowed me to speak
with other people in a completely different time zone through FaceTime, Whats App, and
Skype.
7. Technological fluency
The Covid 19 pandemic improved my technology skills, as I had to quickly learn and adapt to
how applications like Zoom, Google Meets, and online simulators, for some courses like
Science, worked.
